The Global Financial Crisis of 2007- 09 has been called the worst financial and economic crisis since the
one related to the Great Depression by leading economists, and it contributed to the failure of key
businesses, declines in consumer wealth estimated in trillions of U.S. dollars, substantial financial
commitments incurred by governments, and a significant decline in economic activity. Many causes
have been proposed, with varying weight assigned by experts. Both market- based and regulatory
solutions have been implemented or are under consideration, while significant risks still remain for the
world economy.
What aroused my interest in this topic was the fact that an economic crisis that began at such a small
scale in just one country could escalate and go on to become one of the worst financial and economic
disasters in the history of the global economy. Some nations are gradually limping back to normalcy,
while others are zooming ahead with even greater speed of growth, but the fear of a relapse lingers.
I therefore have decided to present my Minor Project Report on the recent World Economic Crisis, and
aim to decode its nuances and features.

attempted to gather more facts regarding the Global Financial Crisis, which have been revealed in the
report itself.

have a thorough understanding and knowledge about this subject for first- hand information, and have
also consulted various reputed journals and newspapers for information. Other than this, my main
