Planning a Book Trailer

1. The audience of this book trailer will be 3rd grade students. The age group will be 8-
9 years old. The learners are a mixture of English Language Learners and on grade
level readers.

Learner Analysis:
a. Age/Gender: 8-9 Years Old/ 12 girls and 4 boys

b. Cultural Background: There is an abundance of cultures. We have 6 students from

Ethiopia, 4 from Nepal, and 6 from Berma.

c. Educational Level: These students have completed Kindergarten though 2nd

grade.

d. Special Needs/Accommodations: The English language learners receive text read

aloud for assessments.

e. Specific Entry Skills:

e. Motivation – Keller’s ARCS Model (How will you design your book trailer to get
the attention of your audience?)
 Attention – I will gain attention by sitting outside and getting annoyed by
mosquito buzzing in my ear. – Inquiry Arousal
 Relevance – State that we have probably all been outside during the summer
time and had a mosquito buzz in our ear.
