OBSERVATIONS AND FINDINGS

WOW CHICKEN-
1. Firstly, it is non-veg product and many retailers were asking for a veg variant. One of
the retailer who was a Marwari even refused to place order.
2. Secondly, it is available in only 5 rs pack. Many retailers asked for 10 rs packs as the
quantity in 5 rs pack is very less.
3. Thirdly, cost of 60 packets of wow chicken to retailers is rs 262. Whereas mimi is
available to them at rs 255.so few of the retailers were worried that if wow chicken
does good in the market they would be making lesser profits.
4. POSM of wow chicken is not available here in Tezpur.
B-NATURAL –
1. Firstly, all the flavours are not available in the market. Flavours like mango and
pomegranate are most popular among youth. while the adult demand for pomegranate
apple guava. Flavours according to popularity (by some of the shopkeepers)-
1. Mango
2. Pomegranate (not available in wd)
3. Apple
4. Guava
5. Mixed fruit
6. Grape
7. orange
8. pineapple
on the other hand, all flavours of REAL fruit juice are easily available in the market.
2. Real is providing 24% margin to retailers whereas in case of b-natural the margin is
only 12%. Real is also providing free 200ml packs (worth rs 20) with each 1 lt pack.
YIPPEE MAGIC MASALA
1. Almost 50% of retailers were complaining that previous order was not supplied and
they had to later purchase it from wholesaler. few of the retailers even refused to place
order of because of this issue. Even on 24th may 162 units were ordered but could not
be supplied because of stock out.
2. Hangers and racks are not available to place the packets. Some of the retailers had to
place it inside polythene bags and cartons due to shortage of space. As a result, the
product was not visible in many cases.
Nestle on the other hand is providing rack (even 2 in many cases) and hangers to
almost all retailers.
3. Maggi is also now available at rs 10 in some stores.
ASHIRVAAD ATTA
1. Sohanlal Agarwal a retailer complained that few retailers in that area were purchasing
ashirvaad atta and other goods from siliguri (west Bengal) at lower cost which is
hampering their business. He urged us to take some actions.
