2017 UPDATE: Hi! Just want to let you know that it has been a couple of years since
I tried auditioning for YG and I have noticed that there has been changes on their audition process (which is now via SMULE).

have no plans of auditioning anymore. It’s just that, time changes everything. I hope that this personal decision of mine does not
discourage you. I won’t be deleting this post either, as readers may use it as a guide. Thank you!

Hi everyone!
Today is a great day because my health is coming back to its awesome state! Turns out that my current health situation was an odd combination of my
allergies and hints of the flu. I am just so thankful to be back into the groove of things because my health is not le ing me down. xD
As you may or may not know, I have been auditioning for YG Entertainment (h ps://www.google.com.ph/url?

for quite some time now. YG Entertainment is one of the greatest Entertainment companies based in South Korea, they venture in the Entertainment
Industry (Music and Acting), Fashion Industry (YGK+ Models, NONA9ON), Cosmetics & Beauty (Moonshot) and the like. I think they also have a
partnership with Woori for a certain project and I am sure they have lots of business ventures that I am not yet aware of. Basically, they are just one of
the BIGGEST companies I dreamed of working at. I came to know YG Entertainment because of KPOP and because I fell in love with BIGBANG’s music
and that’s the reason why I am a YG stan. (but please don’t get me wrong. I listen to a wide variety of music. From KPOP to Korean Hiphop to
American Pop-punk, indie… you name it, I would definitely give it a go )
So enough with the blabbering and let’s get into the purpose of this post.
I stumbled upon a couple of questions (via twi er) on how to send an EMAILED audition to YG. For quite some time, YG only accepted post/mailed
auditions. Now that they have embraced the process of accepting email auditions, it truly gives everyone the opportunity to give their dreams a shot,
because let’s be honest, sending thru post is quite pricey especially for students or non-working individuals. I was actually surprised that some people
are tweeting me about this. I am not really sure how they knew, because I was quite sure I never tweeted about auditioning for YG, but then I suddenly
remembered that I actually tweeted (replied) someone about the email auditions and such (facepalm xD) (thru a random tweet of YGAudition) and that ‘s
how it all started.
I hope that you would find this post helpful and, hopefully, a step towards your dream…
FIRST you have to go to their audition website ( h p://www.yg-audition.com (h p://www.yg-audition.com) )

As you can see, YG Audition’s main page is in Korean so you have to select “ENGLISH” at the upper right hand corner of the page as a Language
Selection.
ONCE SELECTED…
ta-dah~
NOW that everything is in English, please make sure that you READ all the information provided for you. EVERY SINGLE INFO IS VERY
IMPORTANT such as specific requirements, categories and others, so please read them carefully
NEXT: APPLICATION FORM
You can download the form by clicking this:
The file would be in .zip form. So, you have to extract the files to be able to use them. Once extracted, you would be able to see four (4) UNZIPPED
folders:

Folders 1 and 3 are Word Document files, meaning if you are using Microsoft office, these will work for you. If you are an international auditionee,
unzip folder 1; the form that you would be able to access is in English. You don’t need to extract all of the folders here, just extract what you need.
Once extracted, you can now open the folder and the file is now ready for you to be filled up! Make sure to provide truthful information. They have two
questions out there that you just have to put your heart and mind into, so get ready.
(sorry if I am not providing a screenshot of the form… let’s add a lil thrill to your audition adventure! )
FOR THE PHOTO:

For their 2012 forms (and up to this very moment), they require you to provide a profile photo that is not photoshopped or retouched. Be proud of your
features! Flaunt them! I am sure you are beautiful!
FOR THE AUDITION VIDEO: Since you are emailing this, make sure that your video is not too “big” (memory usage wise) so that you can a ach it to
the email. But, if your video file is too big (due to editing), I recommend using GMAIL because it has Google Drive. You can upload files up to 2GB,
which is awesome!
A FEW FRIENDLY REMINDERS:
-(Again) Make sure you read EACH info that their website provides, such as:

– Check out their NOTICE page (and FAQ page) for they post “memos” about their audition process. For example: at the end of 2014, they temporarily
halted their Daily and Monthly Auditions; audition materials sent within the dates of suspension of the audition were not evaluated… so you have to be
aware of that.
-Make sure that you have quick access to your registered email used for the audition. They will be notifying you thru that medium.
– You have to make your audition videos pleasing to the eyes; record in a bright room (not too dark or not too bright). For showcasing your talent for
singing/rapping/beatboxing: the video frame should be from the top of your head down to your torso. For your dancing, make sure that you cover your
whole body, dancing. SHOWCASE all the talents that you have. Pour your heart out and just let go. BE YOU.
-Just have fun auditioning (BE and DO YOUR BEST-EST.) but do not disregard the fact that a RECRUITMENT TEAM is going to watch this.
I hope that I somehow helped you with your YG DAILY AUDITION adventure. Hopefully this is going to be your first step towards a successful career
with YG. If you are not accepted the first time, try a couple more; GIVING UP IS NOT AN OPTION. I know that it sucks not to be accepted for the first
few tries, but perseverance is key. The entertainment industry is a competitive field and you just have to add a lot of hardwork to your God-given talent.
Also, don’t rush your audition, take your time. As for me, yeah.. I have my fair share of audition videos sent to them, but that would not demotivate
me in fulfilling my dream. No ma er how hard it gets, I would never get tired and just give up. If I would be giving up, I don’t think I would be living
optimistically again. I just have to focus and enhance my talents/skills even more.

As far as I know, mailed auditions are no longer accepted… So yeah, you do have to email them all…

Hi!
I am not quite sure why they discontinued Mailed auditions. The good thing is, you can save time (and money) by auditioning thru email!
In my experience, once you have submi ed, at least 3 days after you’ve sent your audition materials, they’ll be sending you a confirmation email
that serves as a “receipt”. After 3 weeks, they’ll be informing if you have or have not passed thru the next round.

Yes. Lately/Recently, they are contacting (thru email) those who failed. Which is a good thing, because you can practice for your next audition.
They actually take a month… But please don’t quote me on this ^^” It has been quite a while since I have tried auditioning for YG… and I can’t
see myself trying, in the near future.

music is recommended,” does that mean like a play a song without the person singing it or literally real instruments playing live music next to you.

Hello! I am not sure. But, I don’t think that appearance justifies your talent, passion and dedication. Just make sure that you have character, so
that you’ll stand out! Instrumental music means your BG track while singing, no voice accompaniment, just you and the music.

In my experience, they just send you a message if you got accepted for their program or not. I think if you get in, they would including additional
info that would help you prepare for the next round of auditions.

For the singers audition it says one needs to record an english+korean song. Since these daily auditions are accessible from all over the world
(international) I doubt that every applicant is able to speak Korean. Does this mean they are expecting Koreans/People who have learned the Korean
language to audition for YG or is it viable/necessary to learn a Korean song word by word (1 verse of course) even if u dont know the language ? Are
u Korean or how did u handle this part ? Regards

I am not Korean and what I did with my audition piece was that I tried my very best to learn how to sing/say each word properly. As far as I
know, they also offer language lessons to their foreign trainees, but, knowing Hangul would be a great advantage for you.

As for my experience, I received an email informing me that I was not shortlisted, 3 weeks after I have received the confirmation email. It’s
probably because of the holidays that they kind of delayed sending out emails. Have you tried checking their FAQ/NOTICE page if it was
delayed? If it’s not, then you could, maybe, try emailing them (?) and ask them about your application. <— But I won't recommend this coz they
take a long time, or they never, really reply to these kind of queries. ^^"

About the plane ticket, that I am not sure about. But, usually, for most companies, they don’t really pay for your ticket to the training center, since
there will still be another audition round that you have to go through… (That is based on the stories I have read online too..)

Hey, i wanna ask so ive sent my application and vid tape to yg for about 3 times already, and they have replied me saying :
“Hello, this is YG audition team.
Your material cannot be accepted.

Please follow the form of e-mail subject, as “[YG AUDITION] Name (City, Age)”.”
Im not sure what they meant, as i already filled in the form and sent a vid of me singing songs in both languages ive also set the title as YG
AUDTION Name(City,Age).
Do you know what im doing wrong? do they want us to type out the application form or to write it down and then scan it.

It’s okay if you’ll write in English, you do have to a ach it on the form, and I don’t think that race is a major factor for their process on recruiting

The application form (now for Black Label) is currently available. I have tried downloading it and worked just fine
If you are a minor (17 years old below), you do need to have the consent le er/template signed by your parents. It is actually a requirement,
emphasized by YG on their site and on their forms. Once accomplished, you may send a scanned file of your papers, alongside the other
requirements, to the audition email, and I think that would be good.

Hi!
Yes, you are right. You just have to select the Monthly Audition tab and all other info will be provided on that menu. Daily Auditions are on-site
auditions, which, I believe, means you have to be there to take on the first step of auditioning, unlike the Monthly Audition one which requires an
emailed audition first, before having an on-site audition.

time I checked, the YG Audition site is handling online auditions for Black Label. I assumed that because, the file for YG Auditionees is not
available on any tabs…
Yes, you do need to fill up the file for your legal guardian. What you can do is you can print it out, have it signed by your legal guardian/parent,
then scan it. A ach the scanned file along your materials (videos, form etc), then send it to the Audition team.

Hi! Recently, the YG audition website has been updated. They’re removing the Daily Audition through e-mail.
I sent my audition files 2 weeks ago via Gmail but I still haven’t received a reply if they’ve been submi ed well or not.
I used Yahoo for my previous auditions but didn’t have any problem, until I used Gmail.
What do you think is the problem? ;-;

Sometimes, they do take a couple of weeks in replying or in giving out confirmations… But, in my case, it took only 3 working days.
I think you can always contact their support department about this?
