According to Hughes, freedom of speech is referred to as the principle according to

which any specific community or an individual has the right to share their ideas and opinions

without any sanction, censorship, retaliation (Hughes). This essay will critically reflect upon five

issues that our society complains about. First are the issues led by Facebook, i.e., internet

privacy, its role in the organizations, involving the employee-employer account disclosure, the

automatic facial recognition software, and privacy of user information. Other than this, the use of

Facebook has imposed psychological effects, involving lack of attention and feelings of stress

and jealousy (Wong). The second issue is related to hospitals where customers have complained

regarding long waits for treatment, lack of compassion and good behavior by the hospital staff.

The staff has a negative attitude and is lazy, arrogant, and rude to patients. Comfortability to

patients is not provided by the staff. There are inadequate responses to patients’ complaints or

requests (Campbell). The third issue is related to online sales. People have complained about

failure to deliver online ordered products and deceptive practices. Some of the common issues

faced by customers with online shopping are lack of security, unclear guarantee and return

policies, additional hidden charges, failures of digital payment, delaying in logistics and delivery,

and product quality issues (Mittal, 2017). The fourth issue is food and water security. Water is

now becoming a scarce resource in some portions of the world with the increasing population. In

some parts of the world, people do not have access to clean drinking water. In addition to this,

drought led by climate change is also resulting in food shortages and supply (Cho). The fifth and

last issue in unemployment. Unemployed individuals face numerous of difficulties such as

homelessness and hunger as they are unable to pay their home rent or buy food to eat. It also has

increased the suicidal rates globally (Brunot).
