F, 5-1/2013 (CPP-I-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-Section (3) of Section 22 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956) and in supersession of all earlier Gazete Notifications pertaining to specification of degrees, the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the approval of the Central Government hereby specifies the nomenclature of degree fo the purposes ofthe said section, SPECIFIED DEGREES Broad discipline-wise nomenclatures of degrees at all levels of higher education should be taken as the specified degree, which the universitiesfnstitations must adhere to, are given below. Alongside the nomenclature of the degrees, ‘minimum entry-level qualifications and duration of the programmes have also been indicated. The information is presented in ‘tabular form for clarity.
