Born:
◦ Legend has It that he was born in Paneas into a
Jewish Family

◦ Paneas is a town in  Galilee region of ancient


Palestine.

◦ This is the same region where Jesus grew up in.


Often pictured:
◦ Often pictured holding an image of Christ.

◦ He can be seen holding a carpenter's rule.

◦ Or depicted with a scroll or book.

◦ Often shown in paintings with a flame around his head.

◦ This represents his presence at the Pentecost while


receiving the Holy Spirit among the other apostles.
Important Locations:
◦ After the resurrection and death of Jesus, he traveled to
Mesopotamia.

◦ He spent 10 years here.

◦ Saint Jude would preach and convert many people to Christianity.

◦ Returned to Jerusalem due to the Council of the Apostles
