CH1 Pedro

You are a regular student. You failed English 1 last semester and you took summer
course and you failed again because you are not good at English. However, you
have been doing your best in your English class this semester in order to pass the
subject. You think the teacher can give you a 6 since you have done a big effort
during the semester and because you have not ditched any class. You are willing to
do your best next semester if you get a 6.
 Prove that you deserve a 6 because you have done your best
this semester in the English class.
“Teacher, I have never ditched classes. I did my best this semester. If
you give me a 6, I will take an extra course on vacation”
CH2 Gregorio
You are an English teacher. You love teaching and you appreciate your students, at
least the ones who do their best at classes. In your opinion, students must get their
grades through their effort and not because of their teachers’ help. You like to
respect the rules.
 Convince the other characters that you have to follow the rules
and that Pedro cannot get a 6.
“Pedro, you got 5.9 and the rules say 5.9 becomes a 5. If I give you a 6
I will break the rules”
CH3 Yolanda
You are a psychologist. You are in charge of the Tutoring Department. Your work is
to help students that have problems in their different subjects. In your opinion,
Pedro is a good boy who has done his best in the English class in order to pass the
subject although he is not the best in English. So you think the teacher should help
him and give him a 6 instead of a 5.
 Convince the others that Pedro deserves a 6 in English because
he has done a great effort this semester.
“Last year, Pedro took English and failed. In summer, he took the
subjects again and he failed. This semester he has worked a lot. If
Pedro gets a 6 he will not feel great and he will do his best in all his
subjects”
CH4 Reynaldo
You are a student and Pedro’s classmate. You are a good student and you always
want to get 10 in all your subjects. You are a junior mentor at the Tutoring
Department so you have heard the psychologist wants the English teacher to give a
6 to Pedro. You think that is unfair because you had 9.4 and the teacher did not
exempt you from taking the final exam. Now, you did not get a 10 but you are
willing to help Pedro if the teacher gives you a 10 for your final score.
 Show that you think that Pedro cannot get a 6 because you did
not exempt from taking the final exam.
“I had 9.4 and I took the final exam. Now, I did not get 10. In my
opinion, if Pedro gets a 6 I will get a 10 because that will be fair”
