After the overwhelming success of ICoASL 2008 (International Conference of Asian Special Libraries) in
New Delhi, the SLA Asian Chapter is now organizing the second ICoASL 2011 in Tokyo, Japan from 10 –
12 February 2011.

The principal objective of ICoASL is to provide a platform for exchange of knowledge


and skills relevant to Information Professionals in Asia with a global perspective.

This Conference is expected to attract more than 500 participants from Japan, India,
China, Taiwan, Asia, U.S. and the globe. You are invited to attend the same. For details

Thematic Areas
The conference aims to place special focus on user-oriented services that must be developed, strengthened, and re-engineered. It also
aims at building user trust and reinforces the value and importance of special libraries as primary resources for reference and research
in the digital era. The conference will discuss all aspects of special libraries in relation to the end user and the parent organization. The
conference theme will be divided into following sub themes:

 New dimensions in special libraries services

 Services meeting strategic directions of parent organizations


 Branding & Marketing of special library services
 User survey, Satisfaction index & user confidence building measures
 Library management - strategic direction, best practices, competency, education etc.
 Performance Indicators for comparative evaluation

Paper Submission Guidelines


Participants are invited to contribute papers for presentation on the above themes and other related aspects. Papers should be sent to

Best Paper Award and Discount


- Best Paper Awards for two excellent papers / presentations: First Prize (USD600) and Second Prize (USD500).
- 50% discount on registration fee for contributed paper presenters.
