Topic: National Tuberculosis Control Program


Placement: Level IV 1st Semester, SY 2010-2011
Time Allotment: 2 Hour

TOPIC DESCRIPTION: This topic focuses on the National Tuberculosis Control Program, its general and specific objectives, key policies, treatment, category
and treatment regimen, and management of pulmonary patients who interrupted treatment. Moreover, it also discusses on the disease
condition, the infectious agent, and mode of transmission, period of communicability, susceptibility and resistance and modes of
controlling the said disease. This also includes the strategies the government empowers and enforces to fight the occurrence and spread of
tuberculosis.

CENTRAL OBJECTIVE: At the end of 2 hours, the students will gain additional knowledge, develop beginning skills, and manifest desirable attitudes and values
about the National Tuberculosis Control Program
