Lesson Idea Name: Fraction Action
Content Area: Math
Grade Level(s): 1st Grade
Content Standard Addressed:
MGSE3.NF.1 Understand a fraction 1/b as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into b equal parts (unit fraction);
understand a fraction a/b as the quantity formed by a parts size of 1/b. For example, ¾ means there are three ¼ parts, so ¾ = ¼ + ¼ + ¼
Technology Standard Addressed: 3 – Knowledge Constructor

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):
The technology I am going to use are simulations. In using simulations, it pushes the students to do higher level and critical thinking to
push forward in the simulations.

Instructional Software
Lesson idea implementation:
I will create my own lessons that I will have the students do before I introduce to them the concepts of fractions. I am going to allow the
students to experience and familiarize themselves with the material before I dive in and teach it to them. I am going to allow the students
to do different kinds of simulations on it to try and help them understand the concept of fractions.

Reflective Practice:
In the next lesson, I would reinforce what I did in this lesson. I would do that by allowing them to do more simulations and games to help
them use these concepts in many different scenarios.
