Searching for Records


Overview
You can use the following methods to find records in Accela Automation:
 Search for records from the list portlets
 Search globally for records from the toolbar
 Filter a list of records in a portlet with a QuickQuery
 Return to a recently viewed record with the Navigation menu

Searching from the List Portlets


You can search for records from any of the list portlets that display records, as follows:
1. Navigate to a list portlet.

2. Click Search.

3. Type your search criteria into the form.

You can use the % wildcard symbol to specify your search.

4. Click Submit.
You see the search results:

5. If you need to refine the search results, click Refine Search.


6. Add any additional search criteria to the form.

7. Click Submit.
You see the results of your updated search:

Searching Globally
To search for records, addresses, parcels, and licensed professionals across modules:
1. From the toolbar, type one or more keywords into the Search window.

Your keywords must include a minimum of three characters of any type. The searches are not case
sensitive. You cannot search across agencies or use the % wildcard symbol to specify a global search.

You see your search results in the Global Search portlet:

Using QuickQueries
To filter the records in a list portlet:
1. From a list portlet, open the My QuickQueries menu.

2. Choose a QuickQuery.
You see the records that match the QuickQuery.

Using the Navigation Menu


To return to a recently viewed record:
1. From the toolbar, click Navigation.
2. Choose a record.

You see the record:

To clear all of the records listed on the Navigation menu, you can click clear history.
