Battle of the Bands Mechanics

1. The competition is open to all students.

2. Must be at least 4 members including 1 (one) member from outside San
Guillermo Academy.
3. All band/group that are going to participate must complete and submit the
registration form and profile of their group/band on or before March 14, 2018.
The profile consists of group/band members’ names and group/band name.
4. Registration fee shall be Php 350.00 per group/band. (Subjected to change)
5. All group/band will be allotted 15-20 minute performance including the
preparation of instruments. There will be a 1 point deduction for every exceeded
minute over the time specified.
6. All group/band will be given a contest piece entitled “Sila” by SUD, each band
can perform this contest piece with their own style/rendition.
7. The rest of the performance will be their chosen song (2 OPMs) or any of their
own/original composition.
8. Song must be suitable and comprised for all ages and must not contain lyrics
implying any distasteful behavior that includes: vulgarity, sex, drugs, alcohol,
tobacco, and racism to include costume attire. Failure to comply will result in
immediate dismissal and disqualification.
9. A panel of judges will score musician using a point system. Criteria to be
considered include:
- Sound Volume & Clarity 25pts.
- Voice Quality 25pts.
- Band Synchronization 15pts.
- Stage Presence 15pts.
- Band Enthusiasm & Attitude 10pts.
- Audience Impact 10pts.
Total 100pts.
10. Costume must be decent and appropriate for the competition.

2. Each pair must wear their club costume.
3. All pairs must present a talent performance which is relevant to their official
club/organization.
4. All pairs will be allotted 3-4 - minute talent performance including the preparation
of props and etc.
5. In the question and answer portion, the pair will be selecting prepared questions
inside a box. One question for each pair.

implying any distasteful behavior that includes: vulgarity, sex, drugs, alcohol,
tobacco, and racism to include costume attire. Failure to comply will result in
immediate dismissal and disqualification.
5. A panel of judges will score musician using a point system. Criteria to be
considered include:

- Impersonation/Style 40pts.
- Self-Confidence 20pts.
