Pre-activity (5 minutes)
Aim
To play a board game to review the form
• Briefly review the past forms of the Past Simple, Past Continuous,
Past Perfect Simple and Continuous, and used to by putting these

Skills Procedure (20 minutes)
Speaking • Explain that students are going to play a game of snakes and
ladders to practice the Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect,
Lesson link and used to.
Use after Unit 3, SB p. 20 • Put students into groups of three or more and give each group
a copy of the worksheet, a die, and counters. Point out that on

the task as the start to a short story/anecdote. Students write notes
for the key events in the story.
• Students work with a new partner and tell each other their
story/anecdote.
