How Is Carbon Fiber Made?

The carbon fiber is a composite material widely used in the aeronautical industry for its
mechanical properties

Firstly, the mold is made It can be in polystyrene foam or fiberglass. After the mold is cleaned this is
very important for the process to go well, then several layers of release wax are applied so that in
the end it is easy to remove the piece, later The resin is heated until it is liquid, subsequently, a layer
of resin is applied on a mold and then a layer of carbon cloth, this step is repeated until it is 1 cm
thick, after The mold with the fiber and the resin are put in a plastic bag (the bag has to be well
celled, you can use adhesive tape), a hole is made in the bag and the vacuum tube is inserted to
generate vacuum inside from the bag, Then the bag is sealed without the vacuum, and the bag is
placed in a warm place for about 2 to 3 days or until the resin dries, finally the piece of carbon fiber
is removed from the mold with the help of spatulas this can be a bit difficult because the piece
usually sticks.
