Frequency Reconfigurable PIFA Antenna Driven By

Microcontroller
Abstract – This paper proposes a method of controlling the
operation of the frequency reconfigurable planar invert F antenna
(FRPIFA antenna) by a microcontroller (MCU). The MCU is
integrated onboard with antenna. In order to tune the antenna
operating frequency, the operation of PIN diode-electronic switches
is done by programs written in memory of this MCU. The use of a
MCU allows custom adjustment of the operation of PIN diode
through the program and also allows an easy connection between
Personal Computer (PC) and antenna. Simulation and
measurement results of antenna parameters validate the
performance as well as the application of the developed antenna.
