Mari Petroleum Company limited (MPCL) Daharki .

University: NED University Of Engineering and


Technology, Karachi.

Department: Management Sciences (Third Year).


Introduction
About
MPCL is one of largest oil and gas exploration and production company in Pakistan,
operating country’s second largest gas reservoir at Mari Field Daharki, Ghotki.

History
In 1957, when MPCL was operated as Esso Eastern Inc, the Mari Field was discovered in Daharki, in
1983 all of the business acquired Esso eastern Inc in Pakistan’, which included the Mari Gas Field.

Company Image
Mari Petroleum has good image in oil and Gas field as mentioned above Mari has second
largest gas reservoir in Pakistan, company has highest E&P ratio (69.23%) compare to other
companies has 30%, and also have the most cost efficient . The company’s operating
expenses are 7-8 percent of its gross sales. I worked in four Departments.
1- Production
2- Warehouse
3- Accounts
4- Admin
Internship Plan

All over in internship period was best plan executed process was learning

Visited in field in Production Department to the wells Deep and shallow.

In Warehouse Department Visited all of the Warehouse and understand the process of
warehouse.

In Accounts department learned about the process of payments, entries of payments.

In Admin department understand about the process of Admin.


Shallow wells: there are 106 shallow wells , among them main habib rahi limestone have 97
wells then Pirkoh limestone having 7 wells and all of them having compreser section. And two
wells of SML and SUL. All of these wells are gathered on CMF-1 and CMF-2. KOD installed at the
well side as well as in CMF-1 and 2 , the function of KOD drum is to abstract the gas and throw
out the water from dump valve in the Pit of water.

The composition of shallow wells are CH4 methane contain 76% ,

A device used for recording the gas at well side is known Orifice plate it is used to measure the
recording of

1- Pressure (Blue ) range 0-1000 psi


2- Temperature (green) 0-150 ℉
3- Differential Pressure ( Red ) 0-100 psi.
