Stages of ASAP Methodology

Phase 1: Program Preparation

This phase is used to “kickoff” the Program and includes the following tasks:
• Review and refine implementation strategy
• Establish program Team working environments
• Determining program Organizations
• Define program management standards and procedures
• Define implementation standards and procedures
• Define system landscape strategy
• Kickoff meeting
• Program team standards meeting
• Identify technical requirements
• Procure Hardware

Phase 2: Business Blueprint

In this phase business practices and parameters are defined to understand the
business goals and business structure, and how SAP will realize those processes.
The resultant design would be a “blueprint of the business” future state. Tasks in this
phase include the following:
• Review and refine Training Plan
• Setup development environment
• Initial set up of System Landscape
• Systems Administration
• Initialize IMG (Implementation Guide)
• Conduct Business process workshops
• Conduct detailed requirements workshops

This phase includes the following deliverables:

Phase 3: Realization
In this phase the system is configured to Client’s business requirements as defined
in the blueprint. This is also the main window of opportunity for knowledge transfer
from SAP consultants to Client’s Project team members.

Tasks in this phase include:


• Initial planning for Production Support
• Conduct Team training
• Baseline configuration and confirmation
• System management including test plans, service level commitments, QA &
Production environment setups and systems and administration functions
• Develop conversion programs
• Developing interface programs
• Develop enhancements
• Create reports and layout sets
• Establish authorization concept
• End user documentation and training material

Phase 4: Final Preparation

Tasks within the phase include:


• Prepare and Conduct end user training

• Refine cut over plans and production support
• Cut over to production system

Phase 5: Go LIVE & SUPPORT

In this phase it is ensured that end-users’ need are being met. Tasks in this phase
include:
• Production support
• Follow up training
• Define long term plans
• Perform Program review

All development requirements will be handled through Satyam’s Rightsourcing Delivery


Model. This is the “Onsite – Offshore” methodology.

Satyam proposes to use the successful Right Sourcing – Onsite/offshore – methodology


for RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements and Forms) developments.

The table below gives the deliverables in each and every phase of the ASAP
Roadmap.
