Objective

While my expertise is in vocal music, I am passionate about all areas of instruction and work with teachers from all types of
subjects. I am an experienced teacher in the arts curriculum, student supervision, detailed budgeting for programs, and
incorporating technology in not only a county wide program, but a state wide program as well who is interested in
obtaining an assistant principal position with Horry County Schools. As an assistant principal, in addition to visiting
classrooms often, I will be a resource to teachers, as I have been throughout the district for fine arts music directors.

I am a committed member of a team that works well with others in many aspects of my position. My strengths include
building a strong choral program, designing and implementing technology solutions for the arts, classroom management,
helping other arts teachers/directors succeed, and organizing large auditions throughout the county and state. In my
current position, I teach many staff development sessions for teachers of Horry County Schools as well as provide
opportunities for advancement for my students.

Leadership Experience
 Develop a registration and audition scoring program and worked with developers to implement the program in HCS. It
has been used by All-County Band, Chorus, Orchestra as well as the Gifted and Talented interviews for Artistic
Scholarships. This program has since been adopted by the South Carolina Music Educators Association to be used at
the state level All-State Chorus audition.
 Organize and host the All-County registration and audition process for band, chorus and orchestra
 Create and present staff development sessions in the area of fine arts, technology and assessments
 Lead exploratory team at Whittemore Park Middle School
 Managed the Whittemore Park Middle School web site and social media
 Help administer the Forestbrook Middle School social media page
 Created the bell schedule for Whittemore Park Middle School
 Created the Whittemore Park Middle School schedule for exploratory classes
 Substitute Assistant Principal at Whittemore Park Middle School to assist during long-term absences
 Compile student discipline reports daily at Whittemore Park Middle School
 Lead after school program and assigned groups of students according to PASS data
 Completed Mentor training with Horry County Schools and host new teachers
 Host 10+ Coastal Carolina University students for observation, practicums and internships

Technology Experience
 Proficient in many online programs and applications including but not limited to Power School, Quia (testing and
activities), Charms Office Assistant (online management, communication, assessment, and financial system),
Edmodo (groups and classes), Google Drive to incorporate Google Classroom, Docs, Excel and Forms as well as using
chrome books to deliver content to students.
 Observe Language! classes, RAZ-Kids (Learning A-Z) reading online practice and IXL Math and English online
practice.
Work Experience
Chorus Director, 2015 – present
Forestbrook Middle School, Myrtle Beach, SC
 Recruit and retain chorus students from the original 76 students to over 100 students even though about half of my
students went to our sister school, Socastee Middle School, after our split.
