As a result, they have become avid
fans of the Stockton Thunders.
Glenn introduced Alex Geche ,
Director of sales and Dan Chapman,
President.
Alex talked about the successes
of the Thunders. Told the story
of how Glenn and Scott Bognuda
became avid fans.
He asked trivia questions and
gave out prizes to the person who
answered correctly (And no – the
prize was not a season ticket).
Dan talked about his 5 year career
with the Thunders. He discussed
the structure of the Hockey leagues,
east and west teams, Kelly Cup
aspirations, how the Thunders stood
in the competition, how many games
they play annually, their pay, etc.
They are limited to a maximum
of $12,000 per week divided between
the 22 players per team. They have to
have a love for the game that drives
them to be the best because they
will not get rich. The season runs
from 10-15 to 4-5 with 2-6 weeks for
playoffs if they get that far. The rest
of the time they get no paycheck.
They are currently looking into
reserving a “Lions” hockey night.
Look for future announcements.
