I. Objectives:
 Define the scientific definition of Physics
 Review of Scientific Method as a fundamental process in Science
 Use techniques on how to succeed at Physics as a subject

II. Subject Matter:

 Author: (1) Young and Freedman. University Physics. 13th Edition.
(2) Tipler, Paul. University Physics. 4th Edition.
 Materials: Book, chalk and chalk board, laptop, projector, white board marker, white board, interactive
presentation
 Date: June 4, 2018

III. Procedure:
A. Preliminary Activities
a. Prayer
b. Greetings
c. Attendance
B. Review/ Motivation

 First day of class: The teacher will ASK each student the reasons why they chose Science,
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as their strand and what are their plans for
the upcoming college endeavor.

IV. Lesson Proper:


1. Introduction

In relationship to the oral questioning in the motivation section, the teacher will relate their answers to
their current subject. General Physics 1: as a subject, its importance and how to look at it more than a field of
science.

2. Discussion:
The teacher will discuss the following concepts:

 Definition of Physics
 Job opportunities as a Physicists
 A review of Scientific Method
 Tips/techniques on how to pass Physics
 Common Anxiety attacks of students in taking Physics exams.

1. Activity

In a one-whole sheet of paper, within 30 minutes of time, students will answer the
following:
a. What are your expectations on our subject matter?
b. What are your usual study habits, specially when it involves numbers?

2. Analysis

c. Based on the science subjects that you encountered, make a chart, table, diagram
that will showcase the difference of each field of science.
3. Abstraction

The teacher will give clarification/trivia on the common misconception of students towards
Physics as a subject.

3. Evaluation and Enrichment

Each student will share to the class at least one of any of their answers on the previous activity.

V. Assignment

On a ½ sheet of paper, Answer the following question:

ESSAY: What is the reason why measurements and units exist? What is its purpose? What do you think will
happen to Earth if measurements do not exist?
