Hello, members of VT-A

Good morning, our friends!

H
Well, I had quite the greeting yesterday on my first day of summer vacation! Chris looked at me and said, “Wow,
I am not used to having someone home while I am working!” I have to be honest and admit that I try to converse with
him while he is hard at work! But…he is such wonderful company! 😊

For those of you who did not make it to Old Forge this year, we missed you! If you were there, what a
great time that was had by all!! We still cannot believe how tame the deer was! The facility was clean and it was
also great to have a continental breakfast ready and waiting for us. Dinner on Saturday evening was superb with
lots of laughter and visiting. Unfortunately, I did not discover the bike path until Sunday morning; it was
magnificent!

We will miss all of you at our next meeting on July 7th! Ron & Patty Clark will fill in for us. Any questions please call

This will be a ride gathering. Meet at Price Chopper in West Rutland at 1:00 pm. Kick-stands up for you 2 wheelers, mount your
ride, or slide into your 4-wheel cockpit at 1:30 pm.

Going on a leisurely ride over the river and through the woods, and meet up at the Village Snack Bar
389 West St Rutland. for whatever your heart desires to eat at 4:30 pm.

Come and enjoy a GREAT ride!!!!!!

Conservation camp sponsor update---- boy is all set, girl is still in the process.

Mike Magee , member of Chapter A asked if the Chapter would consider donating to the Dept
of Veteran Affairs Residential Recovery Center. The money goes toward the weekend BBQ that
they put on for the residents each weekend in the summer.

Plans for the food on Saturday night are finalized for Maine September trip. Hamburger, hot
dog, two salads, and beans. The cost is $12.00 per person. The money is due August 1, 2018.
Make check payable to GWRRA VTA. Tee shirts are also available for $15.00 each. All sizes will
be this price. Reminder for Maine also to bring a new $20.00 item for the Chinese auction.
Looking for ride suggestions , sunrise, jammie ride!!?? Pete at Wells /Ogunquit Resort will
take care of coordinating the kite flying.

Our ride to Texas Falls on June 2nd began with a ride and a surprise stop at Middlebury
Sweets. The BBQ was awesome! 27 members and Dave and Bonnie, Bill and Dee from NH
enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade beans, salads, and very yummy desserts! The
weather was beautiful and the mosquitos were quiet!! Many thanks to Cheryl and Jerry Clark
for setting up the tables, shopping, grilling, cleaning up and also lets not for forget “Jake”!

The other June trip was Old Forge, NY on Father’s Day weekend. Twenty -two members
enjoyed a beautiful ride with gorgeous scenery! We enjoyed some deer visiting us outside our
rooms, old car show, boat ride, and a little shopping! Some went on a train ride and some to a
museum and some just did touring new roads on their wings! Lots of fun!

The next gathering will be at The Village Snack Bar in Center Rutland,VT at 4:30 pm. For
anyone that would like to ride before the gathering, meet at Price Chopper , Westway Mall,
West Rutland, VT at 1:00pm. We will leave at 1:30pm. Weather permitting. If you have any

September.
