INVOCATION
INTRODUCTION In the name of the Father, and of the (+)Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
A woman finds healing by touching Jesus’ cloak, and a girl is restored to
life when he takes her by the hand. In both cases a boundary is crossed: in GATHERING SONG: Crown Him with Many Crowns (ELW 855)
Jesus’ time the hemorrhaging woman was considered ritually unclean,
polluting others by her touch, and anyone who touched a corpse also GREETING

PRAYER UPON ENTERING THE PEW

Lord God of all earth's peoples, we thank you for our nation. Help me and
each of us always to remember your generosity and constantly to do your
will. Move us to establish ever greater honesty in the workplace, justice in
the marketplace, care for the vulnerable in law and law enforcement, truth
in education and speech, and honor in daily life. Save us from violence,
discord, and confusion; from fearfulness, pride, and arrogance; and from
every evil course of action. When times are prosperous, move our hearts to
thank you; in troubled times, move our hearts to trust in you and to serve
one another. We pray in the name of the King of kings and the Lord of all,
Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lord Jesus Christ, you came to reveal God’s eternal and unfailing love for
all people.
We pray:
The congregation sings “Lord, have mercy.”

You came to heal the contrite of heart, to save sinners, and to show us the
way of abundant life.
We pray:
The congregation sings “Christ, have mercy.”

You are seated at the right hand of the Father and send the Holy Spirit.
Help, heal, comfort, and defend us, gracious God.
We pray:
The congregation sings “Lord, have mercy.”

Almighty God has given Christ Jesus to live and to die for us, and in his
name God forgives us all our sins. God the Father strengthen you with the
Holy Spirit, that + Christ Jesus may live in your hearts by faith and show
forth in your loving service to all.
Amen.

A MESSAGE FOR OUR CHILDREN

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. OFFERTORY HYMN: Create in Me a Clean Heart (ELW 186)

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived
by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at
the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and
the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of
saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life
everlasting. Amen.

DIALOGUE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER
Worshippers are invited to bow with the consecration of the Lord’s body
and blood, each time the words “Do this for the remembrance of me,” are
spoken.

Holy, mighty, and merciful Lord, heaven and earth are full of your glory. In
great love you sent to us Jesus, your Son, who reached out to heal the sick
and suffering, who preached good news to the poor, and who, on the cross,
opened his arms to all.

In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave
thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:
Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance
of me.

Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to
drink, saying:
This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people

Remembering, therefore, his death, resurrection, and ascension, we await
his coming in glory. Pour out upon us the Spirit of your love, O Lord, and
unite the wills of all who share this heavenly food, the body and blood of
Jesus Christ, our Lord; to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be all honor
and glory, now and forever.
Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom

The blood of Christ, shed for you.

Lutherans believe, teach and confess that we receive the true Body and
Blood of Christ in Holy Communion. If you desire to pick up the cross and
live in Christ, we hope you will receive with us. Even if you do not feel
prepared to receive the sacrament today we hope you will join us at the
table. Simply hold your hands over your heart and the pastor will give you
a blessing. Pastor will be glad to discuss Holy Communion and Holy
Baptism with you!

LAMB OF GOD (ELW 196)

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

O God, our life, our strength, our food, we give you thanks for sustaining
us with the body and blood of your Son. By your Holy Spirit, enliven us to
be his body in the world, that more and more we will give you praise and
serve your earth and its many peoples, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and
Lord.
Amen.

SENDING OF HOLY COMMUNION

O God of tender compassion, as you healed the sick and welcomed the
stranger, bless those who leave this assembly to share the gifts of this table
with our sisters and brothers who are sick/homebound/imprisoned. May
they be sustained by the love and prayers of this community, and by the
Bread of Life that satisfies all hunger, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
