Gleaned from the table above is the extent of pupils’ readiness/preparedness for

Mathematics 4 in terms of pretest and posttest result. The data are interpreted in accordance to

DepEd Order 8, s. 2015 (Policy Guidelines on Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic

Education Program). As to pretest, the pupils’ mean score is 18.23 or 45.58%, its transmuted

grade is 71 and can be verbally described as “did not met expectations.” On the other hand, as to

posttest, the pupils’ mean score is 25.19 or 62.98%, with an equivalent grade of 76 verbally

interpreted as “fairly satisfactory.” While the pretest and posttest results are quite low, it is

interesting to note that there is an improvement in the pupils’ readiness as attested by the mean

gain score of 6.96. This result shows that the pupils’ are not ready or not prepared in their

Mathematics 4 subject.
