A. Descriptions/Summary of the Film

1. Who are the major actors and contributors of the film?

 The film “Transformers” is directed by Michael Bay and produced by Ian

Bryce, Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Don Murphy. The
music is made by Steve Jablonsky, the screenplay by Roberto Orci and
Alex Kurtzman, and the cinematography by Mitchell Amundsen.

 The film stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel,
Tyrese Gibson, Peter Cullen, Hugo Weaving, Mark Ryan, etc.

2. Who are the main characters?

 The main characters of the film are Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky,
Megan Fox as Mikaela Banes, Josh Duhamel as Captain William Lennox,
Peter Cullen as the voice of Optimus Prime, Mark Ryan as the voice of
Bumblebee and Hugo Weaving as the voice of Megatron.

3. What is the main situation or source of conflict?

 The source of conflict in the film is the “All Sparks,” a cube-shaped artifact
adorned with glyphs and designs which is capable of granting independent
life to normal electronic and mechanical objects and is the source of life
for all Transformers. After the Cybertron (the Transformers’ home world)
was destroyed by Megatron (the leader of the Decepticons), Optimus
Prime (the leader of the Autobots) wants to find the All Sparks to rebuild
the Cybertron and end the war between the Autobots and Decepticons
while Megatron wants it to obliterate the Autobots and control the
universe.
4. Summarize the plot (without the ending) in no more than 2 sentences.

 The film is all about the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
They want to get hold of the All Sparks for their own purpose.

B. Analysis of the Film

1. Describe the acting. Did you believe that the actors were the characters?

 The portrayal of the characters especially the robots were excellent. Shia
LaBeouf (Sam Witwicky) did a great job in portraying his character. His
acting is very realistic and as if he is not acting at all. Also, the actors who
voiced the robot characters also did a great job. They have portrayed
emotions through their voice. The robots are like really alive and can really
talk.

2. Describe the sets, costumes, and make-up if these elements of the film’s
design are significant.

 The costumes used for the robots are realistic. It looks like they really
used a robot in the film. But in reality, it’s just computer graphics. I was
amazed on how they did it. They made the robots look real.

3. Explain what you noticed about the film’s sound effects and music. What did
they add to the overall effect of the film?
 They used good music and sound effects in this film. Every scene has a
sound effects/music that suits to that scene. It makes the overall effect of
the film excellent and amazing.

C. My Personal Response to the Film

1. What was the first thing that you noticed about the movie?

 I noticed that the film focuses more on humans than robots. There are
only few scenes that featured their home world. Most of the scenes were
shown in the human world.

2. When did you first start to like or dislike the film? What contributed to your
reaction? Did your first impression last?

 I start to like the film from the very beginning. Every scene was amazing
and even the special effects used were great. All throughout the film, it’s
very beautiful and left me wanting to watch the movie all over again.

3. Did the movie remind you of anything else you have seen or read?

 Nope. Because for me, it’s already a spectacular and a one and only film.

4. To whom would you recommend this film? Why? To whom would you not
recommend it?
 I recommend everyone to watch this film because this film is really
spectacular and I know everyone will love and enjoy watching this film.
And they will also be amazed on the special effects used in this film.

5. How did ICT played its role on this film?

 ICT played a big role on this film. For one, they used ICT in creating
special effects in the film. Also, the film portrayed ICT in the scene where
soldiers use the body of the still-frozen body of Megatron to advance
human technology through reverse engineering.
