DEFINITION OF TERMS

AIDS- a disease in which there is a severe loss of the body's

cellular immunity, greatly lowering the resistance to infection and

malignancy.

Awareness- knowledge or perception of a situation or fact.

HIV- Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a chronic,

potentially life-threatening condition caused by the human

immunodeficiency virus(HIV). By damaging your immune system, HIV

interferes with your body's ability to fight the organisms that cause

Preventive strategies-Primary prevention refers to the actions people

take that help them avoid developing certain health problems. These

problems can include diseases, sicknesses, injuries or conditions

that are not beneficial to the body.

STD- STDs are infections that are passed from one person to another

during vaginal, anal, and oral sex. They’re really common, and lots

of people who have them don’t have any symptoms. STDs can be

dangerous, but the good news is that getting tested is no big deal,

and most STDs are easy to treat.
