Approval to revive heritage building

to three-quarters of a million
dollars.
The station is probably most
famous for its use during the
time of the Lal Lal races on
New Year’s Day – an event
second only to the Mel-
bourne Cup in the late 1800s,
and which saw 30,000 race-
goers attend in its heyday.
Although the station will
not be re-opened to trains, it
will be restored through the
VicTrack program which re-

Melbourne 3340 This week we had the official opening of the upgrades to our club rooms.

The official opening was attended by members of the Football and Cricket Darley VIC 3340
clubs and also representatives from the Moorabool Shire council who
03 5367 5156 contributed toward the project. Deputy Mayor John Keogh spoke about
the importance of the council supporting local clubs and acknowledging (03) 5367 5680
the vital role they play in bringing our community together and making it
a place where people want to live. The upgrades included an extension to
the clubrooms to include a large outdoor area and bar, updated kitchen,
a new score board, new lighting for the oval and changes to the change
rooms to allow for women’s footy. The works have taken many months
to complete and have cost $750,000. The Moorabool Shire contributed
around $250,000 towards the project. The GB Forestry Cobras would
like to sincerely thank the local council for all of their support in the
project and we hope it allows everyone that uses the club to get a lot more
enjoyment out of the facilities.
Last weekend the PHSA Cobra Junior football teams played in Ballarat
against the Lake Wendouree Lakers. The Baby Black Under 10s braved
the cold and wet conditions and really cracked into their matches. They
had plenty of one percenters, tackles, smothers and shepherds, and had 7a Grant Street 3340
quick ball movements when they had the ball. Plenty of goals and plenty
of fun. The Taco Bill Under 12 reserves played their best game so far for Bacchus Marsh
the season. They should be very proud of their efforts and happy with

away to a better side B/Marsh 2-1-13 L/Wendouree 6-16-46. The Plant
Hire Solutions Under 16.5 Reserves played an outstanding game. They
moved as a team and played great defensive football. B/Marsh 9-6-60 L/ A big thanks
Wendouree1-6-12.

The Arch Electrical Under 13 Girls football played the Melton Bloods. It
was an excellent display of team work, the victory was solely on the back
sponsors...

The Covertite Junior Netballers played well in tough conditions. The
Under 11 Seniors lost their match B/Marsh 0 L/Wendouree 19. The Under
13 Seniors put in a great effort but couldn’t quite win against a strong side

their groove in their match B/Marsh 15 L/Wendouree 43. The Under 15
Marsh Victoria 3340 Reserves suffered a huge loss B/Marsh 6 L/Wendouree 50. The Under 17
Reserves played a great game and managed to draw the Lakers B/Marsh
23 L/Wendouree 23. The Under 17 Seniors did put in a good effort but it
