movie
festival.





This
semester
the
theme
is
Abuse,
hypocrisy,
and
conceal
in
Latin
American
and
Spanish
filmmaking.
The

three
 movies
 that
 we
 selected
 were
 produced
 in
 different
 countries
 but
 focus
 the
 same
 theme.
 The

movies
will
be
shown
the
first
Friday
of
every
month
at
Algoma
University,
room
NW200.


Algoma

 and
 adult
 members
 of
 the
 public
 are
 welcomed.

60s,
two
boys

Enrique

discover
love,
movies

fear

a
Christian
school.
Father
Manolo,
the

principal

teacher,

characters
come
against
one
another
twice
again,
in

70s

and
in

Amalia,
about

discusses
vocations
in

Her
teen
imagination

Jano,

her.
She
decides
to

her
vocation,

follows

rubs

in

at

Meanwhile,
Helena
believes

though
he's
married.

arriving,
 the

 Father
 Amaro
 meets
 Amelia,
 a
 beautiful
 16‐
year‐old
 girl
 whose
 religious
 devotion
 soon
 becomes
 helplessly

entangles
 in
 a
 growing
 attraction
 to
 the
 new
 priest.
 Amelia
 is
 quickly

following
into
the
footsteps
of
her
mother,
Sanjuanera,
who
has
been

engaged
in
a
long‐time
affair
with
Father
Benito.
Amaro
soon
discovers

that
corruption
and
the
Church
are
old

in
