Where did rap come from?

Rap came out of Africa originally and they would tell stories to a musical background. Rap started in
Jamaica in 1960 and was known as skat where they would speak over the music and drums.The first
rap in America started to spring up in the late 60s but mainly in the mid 70s in the Bay area and
Brooklyn streets. It really took on strongly in the 80s especially in the Oakland/San Francisco bay
area. By the mid 90s things in the rap industry started to change for the worse. The mainstream
producers took over and since then true rap can be found in the underground of the rap world.

Where did the rappers get their lyrics from?

The Flow is defined as the rhythms and rhymes of a hip-hop song's lyrics and how they
interact. DJ’s like Jazzie Jeff and Will Smith were the first to rap over music.?

Staying on the beat is central to rap's flow. MCs stay on-beat by stressing syllables in time to
the four beats of the musical backdrop.Rap lyrics are made up of, lines with four stressed
beats, separated by other syllables that may vary in number and may include other stressed
syllables. The strong beat of the accompaniment coincides with the stressed beats of the
verse, and the rapper organizes the rhythms of the intervening syllables to provide variety
and surprise.

Some rappers like Eminem get his lyrics from things that happened to him in life he writes
his own lyrics about his life and how he changed himself.

Why do people rap?

People rap because they like the fast beat to it or they do it to prove or a point to someone or to get
back at someone. Some people cant sing that why they rap, some people rap because they like to
rap.

Who were the first Rappers?

In the 1960s the music messengers were Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley and The Last Poets
were the progenators, the original rappers.

This was the era of rebellion and black power, of empowerment and growth. It was a time
of civil unrest, The Black Panthers, and The Nation of Islam. And The Last Poets were the
progenitors, the original rappers.

Formed on May 19, 1968 on Malcolm X’s birthday, The Last Poets were the separatists of
the day. They came along with the changing domestic landscape of the New York City-hip
groups and were the rappers of the civil rights era. They used obstreperous, hostile verse to
chide a nation whose inclination was to maintain the colonial yoke around the neck of the
disenfranchised.

The very first rappers were Wonder Mike, Master Gee, and Big Bank Hank, members of the
group The Sugarhill Gang. They had the first rap hit,Rapper's Delight,in 1979. Skooly D was
the first gangsta rapper. During the early 80s in New York groups such as Grandmaster Flash
and The Furious fire and Afriika Bambaata used rap as an art form.

Who are the most famous rappers today?

The most famous rappers today are Eminem, Jay Z, Drake,Kanye west and Lil Wayne. 50 Cent
is the most popular rapper on the internet. T.I., Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne. For the
most part, Jay-Z, T.I. and Lil Wayne have pretty similar results, and only saw spikes when their album
was being.
