Nr 1 Season 2016/2017

NEW SEASON HAS STARTED

Our skaters have been during the summer in different camps around Europe. We had skaters
in Oberstdorf, Malmö and Geleen for some even for 3 weeks. First competitions for this season
have been skated and here are the results and PB’s:

Congrats to all!

There are some changes in our club. From the start of the season (earlier than before and thank you for that) we have Grégory Durand from
France coaching our competition group. We wish Greg mostly welcome to Luxembourg! We also want to say thank you Yvan for the years you
coached this group and congrats for the new family member! Our oldest skater from the competition group, Max, has started to study and to
train in Munich with the SLIC team. We wish good luck for him. We have also changed the Sunday training times so that it fits Steve better. The
competition group is training first, after them we have the beginners and last but not least the more advanced skaters on ice.

Anna, Caroline and Augustin will be skating in Bolzano/Italy on 28-30.10 in the STARCLASS 1 (CD) competition and Cecilia, Peter and Max are
competing from 4-6.11 in Asker(Oslo)/ Norway in the STARCLASS 2 (BAS) competition. Save journey and GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!

First ISU WORLDCUP of this season will be held in Calgary/Canada. You can follow that and also the STARCLASS competitions in LIVE STREAM!

Nr 2 Season 2016/2017

AUGUSTIN ON PODIUM IN BOLZANO

Anna, Caroline and Augustin arrived back from the first STARCLASS competition from Bolzano with good results. Augustin was fastest in
1000m and overall Augustin took the 3rd place. Caroline was in 1000m in the A-final.
Here are the other great results with the new PB’s:

Nr 3 Season 2016/2017

FIRST STARCLASS COMPETITION IN NORWAY DONE

Cecilia, Peter and Max were skating in the STARCLASS SAB competition in Asker/near OSLO/ Norway. It
was the first time that Norway was arranging a shorttrack competition with 124 skaters. And as you see, it
was already winter there. Here are the results:

- Ladies Jun A & seniors overall: Cecilia 14th

- Men Junior B overall: Peter 20th
1000m - 1:33.354 - PB & National record
1500m - 2:27.453 - PB
- Men overall: Max 12th Congrats to all!
Next competition were we have skaters is Benelux Cup 20.11 in Eindhoven, Starclass CD 25-27.11 in Dresden and Starclass
SAB 2-4.12 in Utrecht. We arrange on Sunday 11.12 in Kockelscheuer the Benelux Cup. Further info will follow!
ISU WORLDCUP 2 will be skated next weekend in Salt Lake City/USA. Live stream via ISU.ORG

In the ISU Congress in Dubrovnik Jan Dijkema was elected as the new President of ISU.

Nr 4 Season 2016/2017

TOMORROW we have Elisa, Julie, Edward and Jimmy competing in the Benelux
Cup in Eindhoven. We wish them a nice competition and good luck.
The following week Anna, Caroline and Augustin will skate in the Starclass CD in Dresden.

WORLDCUP 1 & 2 SKATED WITH NEW RECORDS

Worldcup 2 was skated last weekend in Salt Lake City (USA) and one week before that we had the Worldcup 1 in
Calgary (CANADA). Salt Lake City has fast(est) ice and they could again register 5 new WORLD RECORDS and many
new NATIONAL RECORDS (> 46 ).

There was much action on ice…

AND NOT TO FORGET! We arrange on Sunday 11.12 in Kockelscheuer a Benelux Cup.

Nr 5 Season 2016/2017

AUGUSTIN OVERALL 2nd IN STARCLASS DRESDEN

Anna, Caroline and Augustin were skating in the STARCLASS DC competition in Dresden/Germany. Our skaters returned with
fantastic results from Dresden. Anna made two PB´s and was overall 32nd. Caroline was second in 1500m and made a PB in
500m, which is also a new NR. Overall Caroline was 4th. Augustin won 1000m and 1500m. Overall Augustin on the PODIUM on
the second position! He skated a PB in 1000 m which is also best European performance of the season in junior C.
Two weeks ago we had Elisa, Julie, Edward and Jimmy in Eindhoven competing in the Benelux Cup. Our boys took in their
category the two first places and new personal records were skated also there

Nr 6 Season 2016/2017

PETER BACK FROM UTRECHT WITH A PERSONAL BEST

Cecilia and Peter were skating in the STARCLASS BAS competition in Utrecht/Netherland last
weekend. Peter made a PB in 500m and was overall nicely 10th. Cecilia was skating together
with the seniors and was overall 22nd. Here are the results:

Next Sunday (11th December) we arrange the Benelux Cup here in Luxembourg in
Kockelscheuer. The competition starts 10:50 but registration ends at 10:00. From the 95
skaters we have in the category Kids on ice 16 skaters: Elisa, Ayanna, Lou, Aliya, Anna Maria,
Julie, Aglaé, Nora, Rim, Sidoine, Rayan, Sascha, Sergii, Eduard, Antonios and Ioannis. In the
main group we have 8 skaters: Cecilia, Caroline, Anna, Edward, Oscar, Augustin, Jimmy and
Peter. Good luck for all skaters and it will be growdy around the rink. WELCOME

PETER AND AUGUSTIN VERY FAST IN THE BENELUX CUP

Last Sunday in Kockelscheuer close to 90 skaters from the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg were competing in the second Benelux
Cup held here in Luxembourg. Many new records were skated and Peter skated in 500m a new national record. Here are the results:

Nr 8 Season 2016/2017

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU

During the Christmas holiday our skaters from the Competition Group have had training almost every
day, often even twice a day. Congrats to all skaters showing such motivation!

In the second part of the season we have our fastest skaters Augustin, Peter and Caroline
starting in the ISU World Junior Championships in Innsbruck and in 11.2-18.2.2017 in the
European Youth Olympic Festival in Erzurum/ Turkey. We are wishing them good luck and
enjoy the occasion.

WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS IN INNSBRUCK

Caroline, Augustin and Peter are skating in the ISU World Junior Short Track Championships in Innsbruck, Austria.
96 men and 62 women are competing for the title. You can follow them on the YOUTUBE CHANNEL of ISU.

NATIONAL RECORDS FROM WJC IN INNSBRUCK

Caroline, Augustin and Peter were skating last weekend in the ISU World Junior Short Track Championships in Innsbruck,
Austria.
5 new World records were skated and our skaters were skating also national records and in Junior C
Augustin has even in 1500 season best time in Europe.

Nr 11 Season 2016/2017

PETER BACK WITH GOLD & SILVER FROM EYOF

Last week the European Youth Olympic Festivals where held in Erzurum, Turkey. Luxembourg had 4 young athletes there and from SHORT TRACK we had Caroline,
Augustin and Peter. Not to forget that the trainer Gregory was also with them! We could only follow on Friday the live stream but the results were stunning.
Peter skated the first EYOF GOLD for Luxembourg in 1500m and next day he took SILVER in 500m. We could read these news in all newspapers issued here. Augustin
won the 500m & 1000m B Final. Caroline made also a PB in 500m and 1000m which both are new National Records. Peter was in SHORT TRACK the most successful
skater! Congrats Peter!
In the MEDAL TABLE Luxembourg was in SHORT TRACK on 3rd position and overall in 8th position from 34 countries!

ANNA MARIA, CECILIA & MAX SKATED NEW PB’s IN MUNICH

Last Saturday and Sunday 184 SHORTTRACK-skaters were assembled to Munich Olympiapark, Germany.
The 10th Munich Open was again very well organized. The warm-up could be done outside in bright sunshine!
All our skaters made personal records and here are the results:

Cecilia Overall 6th 1000m 3rd 1:41.553 PB and 500m 6th 49.491 PB
Anna Maria Overall 23rd 333m 21st 49.103 PB and 500m 23rd 1:16.329 PB
Max Overall 10th 1000m 8th 1:33.582 PB and 500m 11th

Next shorttrack action is the ISU World Championships which will be skated next weekend
in Rotterdam. We have a group of skaters going to watch it!

On Sunday the 19th March, 2017 from 15:30 we have the LUXEMBOURG CHAMPIONSHIPS in Kockelscheuer.
Entrance is free and you can enjoy nice food!

Nr 13 Season 2016/2017

NEW NATIONAL AND PERSONAL RECORDS SKATED

Luxembourg Championships, Europacup Final in Hasselt, Benelux Cup Final in Nijmegen and Easter Cup in Gent have been skated. For
the local championships many of our skaters made new personal records. We had Caroline, Augustin and Peter in the Europacup Final and
in the Benelux Cup Final skated Elisa, Julie and Jimmy. During the Easter holiday we had Julie, Jimmy and Marco skating in the Easter Cup
and Julie took the 2nd place. Here are some of the results:

Nr 14 Season 2016/2017

ALL OF OUR SKATERS ON PODIUM IN TURNHOUT

Last weekend the last competition of season 2016/2017 was skated in Turnhout in the CLOSING GAMES. Like mentioned above all of our skaters were on the podium
and Caroline was 1st and Anna 3rd in category Junior C/B. Peter took in the category Men Senior A/B the 2nd place and Cecilia was 3rd in the Ladies Senior A/B. Together
they were also skating the 3000m relay and ended 2nd with a good help from our trainer GREG.
