Introduction

Every person living in this world has the necessity to communicate ideas and share
information with others, As we know there are different ways to make this, For example
with signs , talking, or writing if we want to express our ideas with a writing process we
need to be “Literate”, According to the dictionary that mean a person who is able to read
and write, But nowadays “Literacy means more than knowing how to read and write”
(page#53) Is the ability of analyze and have a good comprehension how the world is going
on, and have the ability to help others to become literate through using print in the
environment, and reading a story book, and when a little child develop this skills is
able to start a writing process.

The Prints in the environment works like “Sight Words” which the children can read
and identify these prints wherever they are , and they know what it means for example:
Pizza Hut and Coca Cola, The children have a good imagination and if you want to check
if they are being literacy you can tell them a story time and they quickly will associate the
picture of the book with the words and after they can substitute the picture for the word
and start to read, when a teacher has a story time the children are working three areas like
associate the picture with the words and recognize the sounds of the words when the
teacher is telling the story to them.

Even when the children don´t use letters to write a message and only make a draw or
send a letter to a friend, when they are three to five years old and they go to the kinder
garden, At this age that´s the way they write and express their thoughts, Young children
writers are good constructor of the written language, They can copy a rhyme from the board
in this way they are working on Writing and Spelling and learning how to make the
structure of the sentence.
Furthermore we need to create a classroom with a agreeable environment to learn, that
could be filled with interesting charts, posters and pictures according what the students are
learning and making interactive activities like write poems or letters.

Conclusion

If we remember many years ago when we were in pre-school usually we played almost
all the time and developed our motor activities, But nowadays this idea of pre-school has
change a lot. Nowadays when children are in pre-school they start to read and know the
sounds of the letters and that´s good because help the children to develop their skills in
reading and writing, and they start the process of being literacy, It is a gradual
developmental process that day by day we need to work on it. Doing that we will be
Literate and able to communicate our thoughts in a written way.
