DOUBLE SKIN FACADE SYSTEM
DESCRIPTION ADVANTAGE CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
The double-skin facade is a system of building consisting -Increase energy efficiency
of two skins, or facades, placed in such a way that air flows -Control solar heat, protect building from excessive
in the intermediate cavity. The ventilation of the cavity can sunlight
be natural, fan supported or mechanical. Apart from the -Glare control
type of the ventilation inside the cavity, the origin and -Passive night-time cooling system
destination of the air can differ depending mostly on -Sound insulation, noise reduction and acoustic Steel box

INTELLIGENT FACADE SYSTEM
DESCRIPTION ADVANTAGE CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
Intelligent façade system is carried out many benefits in a -enhance visual and aesthetic quality
building. There are many functions of intelligent façade -Pollution barrier
system for a building such as enhancement of natural light, -Increase building life span
protection from glare, sound and noise insulation, provision -Allow natural ventilation
of inside and outside view, enhancement of ventilation, -Flexible to control amount of light and wind
heat or cold collection, protection from pollution, safety penetration, filtration
protection, protection from rain, solar gain, and solar -Increase level of engagement
protection. -Fresh air for occupants Hinge

ADVANTAGE
-Beautify property
-Increase usable space
-Green roof is used to filter stormwater, reduce
overload to city sewage treatment systems, purify
rainwater
-Lower temperature(grass is cooler than asphalt) -
heat island effect
-Reduce energy cost
-Helps with insulation
-Increase lifespan of a roof
-Enhance air quality
(reduce up to 37% of sulphur dioxide, 21% of nitrous
acid, 0.2kg of dust particles/sqm each year)
concrete, eliminating the need to provide props, -Cost reduction (labour and material
and as tensile reinforcement for the slab. Steel bars price)
are included in the slab to prevent cracking and to -Durable
provide reinforcement in the event of degradation -Stiffer
of the decking in a fire. -Allow longer span of slab

WEST
EAST
The front of the building is designed with an extra layer. By creating double skin
facade to control the daylight from entering to the building directly. The design
material is perforated steel panels which allow the sunlight to penetrate into the
building but with controlled amount.
.At the back of the building is designed with the programme of library and reading
areas. The facade uses smart folding wire mesh panels, folding up the facade is to
allow more ventilation and let adequate amount of light into the space. From the back
alley, people would be attracted by the facade as the back facade of the other
buildings are designed to not approach to the people.
Green roof system is used to provide green area for the community as there are no
proper green recreational space for them to utilize. This is an opportunity to enhance
the community’s liveliness and green roof decreases temperature of sunlight before
entering the building.
