A. Upgrading of a Complementary Food Facility of Jordan LGU to Reduce Malnutrition in the Province
of Guimaras

Project Description : The project aims to upgrade the production facilities of RHU-
Nutrition Production Center specifically in the production of
“complementary food” by providing relevant equipment to increase
the volume of production of high quality infant food supplement to
support the feeding program not only in the municipality of Jordan
but as well as to the four (4) remaining municipalities in the
province.

Status : The project fund was transferred to the Municipal LGU of Jordan last
March 17, 2014. Negotiation for the acquisition of the equipment in
the project is on-going thru the municipal BAC.

A site assessment and equipment inspection/inventory will be

conducted upon completion of equipment delivery and installation.
Moreover, a training will be conducted by DOST-FNRI on the
production of complementary food using the equipment under the
project.

B. Upgrading of a Community Based Salt Iodizing Facility for San Lorenzo Salt Producers

Project Description : The project aims to upgrade the existing salt iodizing facility of San
Lorenzo salt producers specifically to increase volume of iodized salt
produced and improve salt quality in terms of iodine content.

Status : The salt-iodizing machine was already delivered to the beneficiary.

Acquisition of other items under the project is still on-going.

Trainings on Salt Iodization Processing and Equipment Operation &

Maintenance of the Salt-Iodizing Machine were conducted by DOST-
ITDI last June 10-11, 2014. It was participated by personnel of the
Municipal Health Office and Agricultural Office, likewise by the
different Salt Producers of the Municipality of San Lorenzo.

C. Upgrading of Production Facilities and Packaging Development for Miniature Boat Makers of Rizal,
Buenavista

Project Description : The project aims to upgrade production facility of Rizal miniature
boat makers to improve product quality and increase productivity.
Likewise, the project includes transport packaging development and
packaging materials to enhance product presentation and
marketability.

Status : All of the equipment have already been procured and delivered to
the beneficiary. However, negotiation for the acquisition of the
packaging materials included in the project is still on-going thru the
municipal BAC.

Equipment inspection was conducted and pertinent documents are

prepared for the liquidation of the project. Moreover, a training will
be conducted by DOST-ITDI on wood finishing techniques.

Project Description : The project aims to establish a moisture determination laboratory in
support to the seaweed industry of Sibunag, Guimaras and to
upgrade the existing seaweeds processing facility by providing key
equipment in processing particularly in food processing.

Status : The project is for termination.

The project is fully liquidated and pertinent documents for the

unexpended balance (Php 69.00) are being prepared.

All of the equipment have already been procured and delivered to

the beneficiary.
