HR ACHIEVEMENTS – 2004

1. A thorough Medical Examination has been completed with co-


ordination with ESIC Hospital pertaining to all staff members
with special reference to Food Handlers.

2. Personal files of all employees have been completed.

3. Group Accidental Insurance Policy has been taken for the entire
staff.

4. Staff Motivation was a concern. To address this issue we have


taken some of the following measures for more staff
participation:-

i. The PF & ESI for the Contract Labour is being implemented,


thereby legal compliance for the Contract Labour
completed.

ii. We have created a new concept “Cafeteria Adoption by


Departments” in our staff dining – particularly during lean
season.

iii. Have started a new contest – “Smart Steward Contest”


for F&B Staff.

iv. In the Staff Cafeteria we have kept a Feedback Register


for staff participation and their feedback for the further
improvement.

v. Suggestion Box for inviting suggestions from the staff has


been placed & Best Suggestions are being rewarded
monthly.

vi. The blank walls of public area corridors have been made
attractive and lively by placing educative posters and
pictures.
vii. We have created two dedicated Notice Boards for staff
participation
 Staff activities with their photographs.
 HR Corner

viii. General cleaning and Hygiene level improved in staff area.

ix. Executive Staff locker room made more comfortable.

x. New Rest Room/ locker created for HODs.

xi. We have created a new Rest Room/ Locker facility for HODs
and existing lockers have been made more comfortable
and better place.
xii. Have renovated the Garbage Room for better hygiene and
cleanliness.

xiii. Doctor’s Room has been created and made operational for
the staff members.

xiv. Training Room has been made operational.

xv. We have started giving half kg. cake on staff birthday.

xvi. Screening of movie “Lakshya” in Jasmine Room.

xvii. We have started giving Rs. 501/- to the staff on the


occasion of their marriage (self)

xviii. Mobile phone policy for HODs and senior executives made
effective.

xix. Made a Medical Reimbursement Policy for those who


are out of the coverage of ESIC ie. drawing salary more
than Rs. 7500/- per month (Rs. 5000/- p.a. under Medical
Reimbursement Scheme)
xx. Have successfully completed The Employee Engagement
Survey – Gallup 2004.

5. Our parking area which was encroached by shopkeepers was


vacated.

6. Our contribution to the Environment & the City – we have


adopted the Public Area & made it clean,
green & presentable :
i. the entire stretch from Aashiyana Restaurant
to RHV.
ii. Two public gardens in front of Hotel De Paris.

7. Our contribution to the society – we keep on giving Hotel’s


discarded items like bath soaps, shampoos etc to Missionaries of
Charity, Mother Teresa House Varanasi.

8. Successful launch of “Temptationz” – our bakery outlet.

9. For having safety and security inside Hotel premises we have


strengthen the CCTV/ Security camera system.

HR ACHIEVEMENTS - 2005
1. “Vision Screening and Vision Enhancement”, an eye
testing camp was organized at the Hotel for the benefit of our
employees.

2. Started a Welfare Fund for the employees in case of tragedy


resulting death in immediate family in which employee
contributes Rs. 10, Rs. 25 & Rs. 50 and an equal amount of
contribution from the employer’s also goes to this fund.

3. Feedback register in staff Cafeteria kept.

4. Organised a movie show for the staff.


5. Executive Staff locker room was made more hygienic, clean
and comfortable.

6. Junior staff locker room was made more hygienic, clean and
comfortable.

7. We encourage the internal vacancy concept – whenever there


is a vacancy first priority is given to the staff.

8. Organised a Staff picnic for all the staff including Contract


employees.

9. Health Talk was organized for the employees in coordination


with an expert medical team from Apollo Clinic, Varanasi.

10. Organised a training class in French for our employee in


Front Line for a period of one month.

11. Our Bakery Temptationz has started giving some of its


products to the staff on cash basis at a discounted rate.

12. Organized A Cultural Programme for all the Staff on 26th June,
2005 (Local Traditional Dance)

13. Pest Control done in the Lockers provided to the staff.

14. Dr. Shamsher Singh from the Apollo Clinic Varanasi visits RHV
on every Thursday for medical consultation to the staff
members.

15. Lockers renumbered and reorganized.

16. Independence Day celebrated in Jasmine Lawn on 15th August,


2005

17. Employee Reward & Recognition Programme –


Employee of the month / Employee of the year, has been
started. Every month two employees – one from Heart and
the other from the Front of the House - are awarded with a
Certificate and Rs. 501/- in cash. A Certificate and Rs.
2501/- in cash is awarded to the Employee of the Year.

18. Free of cost Hepatitis B vaccination for the Staff through ESIC
Hospital.

19. Pedestal fans being installed in staff locker room for staff
comfort.

20. Celebration of Staff Annual Day : 30th September, 2005
