A BRIEF HISTORY

§ Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) had its early beginning in 1949 when the Central
Electricity Board (CEB) was set up in the then Malaya for generating and distributing
electricity
§ Subsequently renamed the National Electricity Board (NEB) in 1965 to form
Malaysia’s sole provider of electricity generation, transmission and distribution
§ Following a corporatisation and privatisation exercise by the Malaysian Government
in September 1990, Tenaga Nasional was successfully listed on the Main Board of the
then Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) in one of the KLSE’s more prominent
listing exercises in the local bourse

§ TNB is the largest electricity utility in Malaysia with
almost RM110.7 billion in assets
§ The Company is listed on the main board of Bursa
Malaysia and employs 36,146 people Group-wide to
serve an estimated 8.6 million customers in Peninsular
Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan
§ Our core business includes electricity Generation,
Transmission and Distribution activities in Peninsular
Malaysia and the state of Sabah
§ Other businesses include: -

(MSOSH) Awards were recognised for high levels of health and
safety.
7. GOLD AND BRONZE FOR CSR - TNB won Gold for
Excellence in the Provision of Literacy & Education, while TNB
Janamanjung Sdn. Bhd. received Bronze for Product
Excellence at the 6th Global CSR Summit and Awards 2014.

8. TOP 10 IN MALAYSIAASEAN FOR CORPORATE
GOVERNANCE - TNB was listed in the top 10 of the Malaysia-
ASEAN Corporate Governance Index 2013 produced, under the
category of Industry Excellence (Utilities), and ranked 10th
among the 100 Best Companies under the Transparency
category.
9. MALAYSIA’S TOP POWER PLANT SERVICE PROVIDER -
TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn. Bhd. (TNB REMACO) was
named Malaysia’s Top Power Plant Service Provider at the Top
Asia Corporate Ball 2013
10. MALAYSIA POWER PLANT SERVICE PROVIDER OF THE
YEAR - TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn. Bhd. (TNB
REMACO) was awarded the ‘Malaysia Power Plant Service
Provider of The Year’ in the Energy category at the Frost &
Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards 201
11. HUMAN RESOURCES MINISTER AWARD 2013 - TNB
Janamanjung Sdn. Bhd. won the Human Resources Minister
Award 2013 in the Large Employers (Services) category.
12. BEST DISTRICT COOLING OPERATOR/ASSET OWNER -
TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (TNEC) was named the
Best District Cooling Operator/ Asset Owner.
13. NUMBER ONE CNY PRINT ADVERTISEMENT ( MOST
MEANIGFUL CATEGORY) – Won first price in the 2014 CNY
Award organised by China Press and Siang Pau.
14. OUTSTANDING BOOTH DESIGN - TNB won the Outstanding
Booth Design at the ASEAN M&E Show 2014
