Media convergence is the merging of mass communication outlets e.g.

print, television, radio ,the internet along with portable and interactive
technologies through various digital media platforms.

2. Why media convergence a trend that cannot be done away.

Because technological capabilities were established to allow for

cheaper and widespread implementation and it allows multiple tasks to
be performed on a single device, which effectively conserves space and
power.

3. What are other examples of media convergence?

Rather than carrying separate devices-like a cell phone, camera and

digital organizer-each technology converges on a single device, or
smartphone. Another good example is surfing the internet on a high –
definition TV (HDTV).
