Dear Sir or Madam:

On March 7, 2018, the Georgia Department of Human Services Division of Aging Services (DHS
DAS) and the Division of Family and Children’s Services (DHS DFCS) met in Athens to begin
strategizing ways to improve access for kinship families to behavioral health services. This
meeting yielded valuable insights and partnerships to help relative caregivers and the children for
whom they care.

In partnership with Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging and the Athens Community Council
on Aging, we are hosting a follow-up forum to broaden the conversation about access to include
private and faith-based behavioral health professionals. Our goal is to develop new resources
and partnerships to support our kinship families.

The meeting will be held July 11, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at:

Athens Community Council on Aging

135 Hoyt Street
Athens, GA 30601

Space is limited so please RSVP with Emma Kate Smith, grg@accaging.org or (706) 549-4850
by July 6, 2018. We look forward to seeing you there.

Best,

David Watkins
