RMC Media– Principal Current
As a highly experienced media and entertainment Chief Financial Officer, Finance Director and executive with
more than 20 years experience in managing entrepreneurial media organisations through both strong growth and
severe downturns. I have used the long term relationships I have built to establish a Corporate Advisory and
Financial Mentoring business for small to medium size businesses both in the media sector and outside it.

Current Roles include:


Financial and Corporate Advisor for Playmaker Media a new TV production company established by
production executives from Fox Studios Australia.
Corporate Advisor to UBI World TV Australia’s largest ethnic Pay TV broadcaster on its successful
purchase of the SelecTV’s ethnic language channels.
Corporate Advisor in conjunction with Southern Cross Equities on the sale of 100% of the Australian
Poker League – project continuing.
Advisor to the Chairman of TRUE Solutions International - a major independent cosmetics
distributor on the restructuring and enhancing Reporting to improve decision making by the Board.

During 2010 I acted as CFO and Head of Strategy for Rigon Holdings the international licensee for ZillionTV
of the US. Zillion with VC backing developed and beta launched an IPTV platform for the on-demand
delivery of movies, TV, sports and music. For Rigon I developed all business plans, secured investment
bankers, wrote a fund raising Information Memorandum and developed Investor Presentations. Additionally
I negotiated international IP license rights and secured local programming for the platform.

Previously in 2002 acting as an independent advisor I worked with the founders of Unwired Limited to
write the business plans, develop investor presentations and undertake road shows in the US for the
initial raising of $100m to acquire new radio frequency spectrum being auctioned by Federal
Government in order to establish a wireless broadband network. I also acted as Interim CFO until a
fulltime executive was established.

Quickflix Limited –
Independent Non Executive Director Current
Quickflix is a Public Company listed on the ASX and based in Perth with offices throughout Australia. It is
Australia’s leading on-line DVD rental company offering a service similar to Big Pond Movies in Australia and
Netflix in the US.

I was invited to join the Board of Quickflix due to my long term involvement in the media industry and my
strong connections with the Sydney financial, banking and broking community.
Appointed as an Independent Non Executive Director I am also on the Company’s Audit and Compliance
Committee and its Non Executive Director Committee which also acts as the Remuneration and
Compensation Committee.
While remaining a non-executive I have actively participated in investor and shareholder presentations,
capital raising activities, negotiations with strategic investors, program and technology suppliers and in
the stead of the Executive Chairman when he has been unable to attend meetings in Sydney.
As part of the Board I have acted to set the company’s strategy for the future and to deliver the funding
required by management to fulfil its business plans. In the past year we have successfully, via both
placement and shareholder rights issues raised $2.1m, and are currently undertaking a rights issue for a
further $3m.

Australia’s largest regional TV broadcaster, owner of Channel 9 Perth and Adelaide with PayTV, radio and cinema
and over 1600 employees.
MANAGEMENT & FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP
Planned and implemented the restructure of the groups financial systems, merged all financial
processing within group to one centralised location.
Successfully purchased two metropolitan TV stations for $268m. Raised funding, conducted Due
Diligence, negotiated contracts, implemented legal and accounting framework and change
management/integration. Implemented cost saving initiatives leading to improved returns of $10m +
p.a.
Successfully managed and implemented restructure of Group’s tax structure generating major
benefits for owners.

Southern Star Key Achievements –


CFO and Company Secretary
Australia’s largest independent TV production company with operations in Australia, the UK and Singapore. A
world leading international sales agency for TV programming world-wide. Australia’s largest DVD and Video
duplicator.
Led the implementation of all new investments, JV’s, acquisitions and disposals.
Responsible for all Public reporting for ASX, board and audit committee, dealt with financial
analysts, investors, lenders, ASX and press including writing all public announcements.
International finance and management managing the entire finance team in Australia, Singapore
and the United Kingdom, restructured all financial systems/corporate and reporting, implemented
strategies for tax management and capital management. Refinanced all group borrowings.
NEGOTIATOR AND STRATEGIST
Management and implementation of sale of Southern Star to Southern Cross Broadcasting Limited
for $90m in 2004 achieving major sale benefits for Shareholders
Managed and implemented the purchase of Pacific Mirror Image (Australia’s first DVD duplication
plant) from PMP Limited for $28m, merged PMI with Southern Star Duplitek and sold merged entity
to Technicolor for $100m+ achieving a major premium for Southern Star.
Negotiated establishment of the Southern Star Endemol JV with Endemol International and
licensing rights for Big Brother for Australia in 2000.Purchased DSP Productions NZ for JV and hired
first CEO to manage JV. Established finance team for JV and all reporting. On-going JV board
member and secretary. Renewed JV after initial 3 year term in 2003. JV generated annual revenue
of A$30m+.
Acquisition, financing and integration of all major new investments including:
o Primtetime International the largest independent program distributor in the UK for GBP3.5m.
o 60% of Carnival Films UK (drama producer) for GBP3.6m in 2004.The business was subsequently
sold to NBCU International for GBP45m.
o Darrall Macqueen UK (children’s producer) for GBP1.5m.
o Coastal Productions UK TV catalogue (Wire in the Blood) for GBP3m achieved a substantial profit
increase of GBP500k p.a.
o Satellite Music Australia for Southern Cross Broadcasting in 2005 for $11m.
Sold Oxford Scientific Films still picture library to Photolibrary in 2004 for equity – managed
relationship and Board member until sold equity to investors in 2005 for $2m.

Australis Media Limited was Australia’s first Pay TV Broadcaster launched under the Galaxy brand as well as a
major programming channel developed, owner and supplier to other platforms including Foxtel and Austar.
Concept development, founded Australis with Steve Cosser and led initial IPO of $38m, capital
raisings from major industry groups of $250m+ and listing of US High Yield Debt of $500m.
Led the strategic acquisition of MDS and satellite Pay TV licenses.
Key team member and finance management for all critical negotiations including:
o Hollywood Programming relationships and formation of the Showtime, TV1 and Prime (Fox)
Sports channels.
o Establishment and management of major franchisees including Austar.
o Program supply agreement with Foxtel.
o 2 merger agreements struck with Newscorp, Telstra and Foxtel.
Led and implemented the establishment of the finance team.
Championed the acquisition of programs with all suppliers, new channel developments, negotiations
with regulators. Conducted research and made submissions to ABA to obtain Narrowcast Licenses for
launch of Australia’s first Adult Channel. Developed business plan, purchased programming,
managed regulatory and staffing aspects of launch. Launched generating $2m+ profit p.a.

Broadcom Australia Limited –

Broadcom Australia was an entrepreneurial media company offering TV production facilities, an independent TV
production company and a point of sale media developer including video and music services including Muzak
and the start-up of Australis Media.
Restructured operations of The Music Company, Australia’s first legal Foreground music
business. Merged TMC with Fairfax owned Muzak and operated as a JV until buying out 100%.
Acquired Seeburg Music the remaining competitor in the marketplace.
Managed process of Broadcom’s takeover of management rights to Network Ten. Project
managed the relocation of Channel Ten Sydney from North Ryde to city achieving a substantial
debt reduction of $100m+ on disposal of North Ryde site.
