Systematic Theology
‘Digging Deeper’
A Theology Class for Women

After a wonderful semester of the study Systematic

Theology by almost 50 women this past winter,
we shall resume our study this fall. Using the same
textbook, The Moody Handbook of Theology
by Dr. Paul Enns, we will complete our study as we
explore other important categories of theological
study including:

* Biblical theology (the study of Christian theology dealing systematically with

the historical progress of the self-revelation of God in the Bible);

* Historical theology (the study of Christian theology as it has unfolded through

the centuries);

* Dogmatic theology (the study of Christian theology as it deals with doctrinal

truth of Scripture in a systematic way, and more particularly with that truth as it
is confessed by the Church);

* Contemporary theology (the study of Christian theology as seen in current

theological thought and movements).

Even if you were not present for the first unit of Systematic Theology study, you
are welcome to attend this class, which will be taught by Janet Wicker and Vina
Sterrett. There is a requirement for personal study and faithfulness to
attendance of each class, which has started this past week and will conclude on
November 18th, at 6:30 p.m. in room WC117. Each class lasts two hours and the
textbook is available at our FBCN Lighthouse Bookstore.

To confirm your participation in this class, please contact…

Sandy at 596-8600 x261 or email sgraham@fbcn.org.

Announcing our Fall 2010 RefresHer Bible Study ...

So Long, Insecurity
by Beth Moore
Join us this fall as we read the book and study the scriptures about
an issue that affects every woman, regardless of her profession,
credentials, possessions, or attributes. The issue of insecurity has
become epidemic among women, but it is not incurable. This journey
to authentic security will cause us to identify the lies from the world’s
erroneous belief system that have infected and paralyzed us as we
allow the truth of God to scream louder to our souls in liberation.

Each week you will be given chapter assignments to read in the

book along with scripture study and directed prayer times. When we
join with other women each week in small table discussion, we will
work through the issues and focus on God’s Word together in study
and prayer, followed by group study and teaching led by our
Senior Pastors’ wife, Janet Wicker.
