TASK SHEET NO.

TITLE: WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CAKE DECORATION USING BUTTERED VANILLA ICING

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Decorate a wedding anniversary cake in one (1) hour and thirty (30) minutes using a pre-mixed buttered
vanilla icing based on the standard procedure.

SUPPLIES/MATERIALS:

1 pc. 8” chocolate pound cake


Buttered vanilla icing
Food Color (gel/liquid)
3 pcs. Disposable Pastry bags with different decorative tips (leaf tip, star tip)
1 pc. Stainless spatula
3 pcs. Spoons
3 pcs. Small Mixing Bowls
Rubber Scraper
Turntable
Cake brush/Table Napkin

Note: Learners should wear proper cooking/baking attire: hair net, apron, face mask

EQUIPMENT:

STEPS/PROCEDURES:

1. Set the working table and the supplies/materials properly.


2. Place the 8” chocolate pound cake on the turntable.
3. Remove the scattered crumbs using cake brush/table napkin.
4. Cover the whole part of the cake with icing using stainless spatula from the top to the side of the cake.
Be sure to spread the icing evenly while turning the turntable constantly in one direction.
5. Add few drops of liquid food color on the remaining icing depending on the concept/occasion. Mix
thoroughly until the desired color is attained.
6. Put the colored icing into the pastry bag separately with the pastry tips attached.
7. Start decorating the bottom part of the cake using the star tip.
8. Continue decorating the top of the cake with a bouquet design using the star tip and leaf tip respectively.
9. Write the title of the occasion using the pastry bag with a small hole enough to release the icing.
10. Present your output.
