Dear Sir or Madam,

I am hereby applying for the Master of European Studies program at the Bulgarian- Romanian Interuniversity
Europe Center.
First of all I would like to present some background information about myself . I have a Bachelor of Arts in
communication sciences with a focus on political communication. Of greater importance for this master’s program
is the fact that I recently obtained an M.A in European and Romanian Policy. My particular interest in European
affairs has developed also during my internship at the European Commission Representation in Romania. It was a
great opportunity for me to experience firsthand the workings of an international organization. I’ve always been
fascinated with international and European politics and the fact that I was able to do an internship in the political
department of the EC Representation made me realize that this sector of political analysis and policy making
process helps me express myself best. Also, I’d realized that I have also much left to learn, not only on a practical
level but on an academic level as well. I want to continue with the Master’s program offered by BIRE because I
believe that a respected educational institution as yours can help me improve my knowledge and skills required for
a future career within the EU institutions.
Regarding my experience outside school curriculum, as a sample of active involvement in the development of civil
society, I take great pride in the fact that I contributed in setting up a non-governmental organization. It's called the
Association of Specialists in Political Communication. At present, even though I'm no longer a member of this
NGO, I'm glad to say that ASCP has trun out to be a melting pot for different ideas, for political scientists and
political marketing specialists, historians and civil society representatives.
Another thing I would like to point to is represented by the summer schools I attended this summer. Whether it was
the one in Sarajevo, the ELDR workhop in Brussels or the Venice Summer School, the academic outcome in all of
these cases was as enriching and fulfilling as was the pleasure to meet teachers and students who made a lasting
impact on me.
As a working experience, I have to mention the year spent as a junior political researcher at two of the leading
Romanian political consulting agencies. From this position I had experienced first-hand the role and powerful
impact of the new media in the Romanian local and general elections of 2008.
In conclusin I would like to say that I am eager to gain new knowledge and experience and in my opinion this
program is the best way to achieve all of these. Its international aspect and very high standard of education
encounters different students from various countries, so the interaction during the study is very enriching and
exactly what I am looking for.
