    The United States Government

    In this unit, students will learn about the following topics:

    • Identify and describe the roles of the three branches of
    government: Executive Branch, Legislative Branch and
    Judicial Branch

    • Explain how the Executive Branch has a cabinet to assist
    the president

    • Describe how the Legislative Branch is made up of the
    Senate and the House of Representative AND what both of
    them do

    • Explain the meaning and purpose of the US Constitution
    AND all three parts of the constitution: the Preamble, the
    articles of the Constitution and the Amendments

    • Elaborate on the Bill of Rights, especially the First
    Amendment

    • Describe the roles in the US State Government and the US
    Local Government

    • Compare and contrast our US Federal, State and Local
    Government
