Lesson idea implementation:

For this lesson, I will pull up the “I See Shapes!” PowerPoint. As a class, we will go through each of the slides
and then we will discuss each shape using an anchor chart. On the anchor chart, we will discuss the names of
each of the shapes in the PowerPoint.

I will put the students in groups of four and have them create a small PowerPoint of their own that will be
over an assigned shape. The group will have to identify the shape and put examples of the shape in real life.
(Example: Circle – sun, moon, cookies) The students will then have a chance to share their PowerPoint
presentation with the class.

Reflective Practice:
Students will now know how to relate their shapes in their everyday life. One way to extend this lesson, could
be to post each PowerPoint on the classroom website to share it. This would make this lesson a LoTi Level 5.
They could make their PowerPoints into a movie to enhance the project.
