Our pulpit guest this weekend, Dr. Richard Land, is such a Public Issues
man. We welcome him again and are grateful that for over two Dr. Richard Land
decades he has served as President of our Southern Baptist Ethics
and Religious Liberty Commission. I can still remember when Systematic Theology
Southern Baptists had drifted to the left concerning the great Double Services
moral and ethical challenges of our times. I was embarrassed

that we had not spoken out and taken a stand on the issue of
abortion, religious pluralism, euthanasia, and many other issues. Kidztown
However, with the “Conservative Resurgence” in 1979, our
Back To Basics/Quilting
trustees and Baptists messengers changed the direction of all of
our institutions, and elected Dr. Land. We prophetically began Anna’s Tea
sharing with our nation how we can recover the values of our FBA Lions Football
forefathers and, most importantly, our Heavenly Father.
Project56 & Praise Kids
Dr. Land has represented evangelicals before Congress, US Resonate Launch
Presidents, and served as Commissioner of the U.S. Commission
on International Religious Freedom. He reminds us that the Cache Connections Live
issue is not being a red or a blue stater. In his book, The Divided Christians In Action
States of America, he recalls us to pay the price for a third “Great
Awakening” by repentance of sin, turning from “the current R12 Coach
erosion of our values and the coarsening of our culture,” and Benevolence Fund
restoring our moral, ethical, and civil “guardrails.”
Living Christmas Trees
Richard reminds us that we must zealously protect not only “the
freedom of worship” but also the “freedom of religion.” He recalls FBCN Church Online
George Washington’s letter to a Jewish Synagogue in 1790 that www.fbcn.org

Hear Dr. Land with an open mind and heart. Gain a new
“understanding of the times” as a citizen. Pray, vote, and get
involved. Come to the Sunday evening time of dialogue with
this great spokesman who has not only a degree from Princeton
but also a Doctorate of Philosophy from Oxford. “To arms!”
Dr. Richard Land
President of the Southern Baptist Convention’s
Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission
Dr. Richard Land has served as president of the Southern
Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission
since 1988. Dr. Land has represented Southern Baptists and
other Evangelicals’ concerns in the halls of Congress, before
U.S. Presidents, and in the media. He speaks passionately
and authoritatively on the social, ethical, and public policy
issues facing our country.

Dr. Land is speaking in this weekend worship services on

Sept. 25-26, 2010.

Also, in the Chapel beginning at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening, there will be a
question and answer session addressing today’s pressing issues. He will be
selling two books in the Commons: “Real Homeland Security”, and “Imagine!
A God-Blessed America”. He will be autographing after each worship service.
Books are $20 or 2/$30.

FBCN is again supporting the ecumenical “40 Days for Life” campaign in
Collier County. We need volunteers to pray for an end to abortion AT Planned
Parenthood (Goodlette Road and Creech, 2 miles south of Pine Ridge) on
