PAMBUNGAD
PRUSISYON
The Presider, carrying a large cross and preceded by a minister carrying the Book of the Gospels and by
two candle bearers, processes toward the altar, while the assembly sings the entrance song. If there is a
deacon, he performs his functions as indicated in the Sacramentary. On Solemn Occasions flower petals
may be strewn on the aisle to honor the cross. Upon reaching the sanctuary the Presider hands the cross to
an acolyte and with the ministers performs the customary signs of reverence. The candles in the sanctuary
are not yet lighted.
PAGPAPARANGAL
After the song the Presider blesses the people with the cross, as he chants:
The Presider raises the cross high, while the people sing:
B: Purihin at ipagdangal
ang ating Poong Maykapal:
Ama na bukal ng buhay,
Anak na siya nating Daan,
Espiritung ating tanglaw.
Then one of the following Introductory Rites (1, 2, or 3) is used or two of them may be combined (e.g. 1 and
3, or 2 and 3) under one introduction.
1. PAGPAPAKUMBABA
The penitential rite is recommended especially during the Seasons of Lent and Advent. The people kneel.
The Presider will address them with the following words.
P: Mga kapatid,
buong pananalig at kababaang-loob
halina’t dumulog
If the water has not been blessed, the presider adds the following prayer:
P: Manalangin tayo.
Amang mapagmahal,
sa kapangyarihan ng Espiritu Santo
pabanalin mo + ang tubig na ito
na nagpapaalala ng iyong biyaya
sa mga hinirang mo at kinakalinga,
sa pamamagitan ni Hesukristo
kasama ng Espiritu Santo
magpasawalang hanggan.
B: Amen.
The priest sprinkles holy water on the people. They make the sign of the cross.
3. AWIT NG PAGPUPURI
The Gloria is suited for Christmas Day, Easter Sunday, Easter Season, and other solemn occasions. It is
not said on Sundays of Lent and Advent. The presider introduces in these or similar words:
P: Mga kapatid,
sa ating maringal na pagdiriwang
ng kapistahan ng (ni) N.,
halina’t galak na magpugay
sa Diyos Amang makapangyarihan,
kay Kristong nagligtas sa sanlibutan,
at sa Espiritung dakila at banal.
PAGBIBIGAYAN NG KAPAYAPAAN
After the introductory rite, the presider addresses the people in these or similar words:
Mga kapatid,
yamang tayo ay hinirang ng Maykapal
at tinipon niya bilang isang angkan,
halina’t malugod na magbigayan
ng tanda ng pagkakaisa at kapayapaan.
The people give the sign of peace to one another according to local custom. The younger ones may make the
mano po to their elders, while others may shake hands or make some other appropriate sign of peace and
fellowship.
P: Manalangin tayo.
PAGPAPARANGAL
The presider introduces the Liturgy of the Word in these or similar words:
Mga kapatid,
halina’t ipagdangal
ang Banal na Kasulatan,
at taimtim na pakinggan
ang Salita ng Poong Maykapal,
nang sa puso’t diwa ay makintal
ang Aral na liwanag ng buhay.
The presider raises the Book of the Gospels high, while the people sing:
Purihin at ipagdangal
ang ating Poong Maykapal:
Ama na bukal ng buhay,
Anak na siya nating Daan,
Espiritung ating tanglaw.
PAGBASA
The lectors go to the presider and make the mano po. The presider addresses them, saying:
The readings are proclaimed in the usual manner. The responsorial psalm is chanted following the
arrangement found in the Lectionary.
The people stand to sing the Gospel acclamation while the Gospel book is carried in procession to the lectern.
One of the following acclamations may be sung.
Aleluya! Aleluya!
Ikaw, O Kristo ang buhay
at ikaw ang tanging daan
patungo sa kaligtasan.
Aleluya! Aleluya!
During Lent:
At si Hesus ay tumanyag:
bait, dunong niyang lakas
sa buong baya’y nahayag
ang pag-ibig niyang wagas
sa tana’y ipinamalas.
The Gospel is read following the indications in the Sacramentary. At the end of the reading, the deacon
(or priest) says:
B: Papuri’t pasasalamat
aming ipinagtatapat
sapagkat kami’y namulat
sa katotohanang hayag
at naakay sa liwanag.
PAGLUHOG NA PANGKALAHATAN
At the general intercessions the people kneel.
PAGHAHANDA
The people sit. The Presider addresses them in these or similar words:
P: Mga kapatid,
While the bread and wine for the Eucharist are carried in procession, instrumental music may be played.
Other gifts may be brought along; these are placed on a side table in the sanctuary. The offerors make the
mano po to the Presider.
One of the offerors or the Commentator addresses the Presider with these words:
Then the offertory song is sung, while the presider prepares the altar and the eucharistic gifts, according
to the indications in the Sacramentary.
Manalangin tayo.
PAANYAYA
The Presider opens the eucharistic prayer with the following dialogue:
P: Mga kapatid,
halina’t ipaubaya
ang ating mga alalahanin sa Diyos;
lahat ng papuri at pasasalamat
sa kanya ay ating ihandog.
The altar candles are lighted, and the bells are rung festively, while the people sing:
Purihin at ipagdangal
ang ating Poong Maykapal:
Ama na bukal ng buhay,
Anak na siya nating Daan,
Espiritung ating tanglaw.
Sapagka’t karapat-dapat
na magdiwang tayong lahat,
sumamba’t magpasalamat
magbunyi at magpahayag
ng pag-ibig niyang wagas.
Ama namin,
ikaw ang tanging kapuri-puri
at siyang dapat pasalamatan.
Kapos ang aming dilang magpahayag
ng iyong kapangyarihan
at walang hanggang awa.
Amang maawain,
walang sawa kang nagdalang-habag sa kanya
at nagpuno sa kanyang kakulangan.
Amang makapangyarihan,
He takes the bread, and raising it a little above the altar, continues:
He bows slightly.
He places the consecrated host on the paten and continues without interruption.
He takes the chalice, and raising it a little above the altar, continues:
He bows slightly.
He takes the consecrated host, holds it over the chalice, and raises them high for the adoration of the people.
The church or sanctuary bells are rung festively, while the people sing the doxology. The sacred species may
be incensed.
Purihin at ipagdangal
ang ating Poong Maykapal:
Ama na bukal ng buhay,
Anak na siya nating Daan,
Espiritung ating tanglaw.
Dakilang Ama,
bilang pagtupad sa habilin ni Kristo
magiliw naming inaalaala ngayon ang kanyang
pagkamatay at muling pagkabuhay.
At samantalang pakumbaba naming iniaalay
ang haing nagbibigay-buhay,
hinihintay at pinananabikan namin
ang kanyang pagbabalik.
PAGLUHOG
The Presider or one of the Concelebrants joins his hands and says:
The last phrase of the petition and the response of the people are sung.
P: Iniluluhog namin.
B: Sapagkat lubha kang maawain.

chalice) and says:
Sa pamamagitan ni Kristo,
kasama niya at sa kanya,
ang lahat ng parangal at papuri
ay sa iyo Diyos Amang Makapangyarihan,
kasama ng Espiritu Santo
magpasawalang hanggan.

sumamba’t magpasalamat
magbunyi at magpahayag
ng pag-ibig niyang wagas.
Then the Presider and the people make the sign of the cross to indicate that the solemn prayer of the Church
is about to begin.
maumid man ang dilang namin.
Dinadakila ng lahat
ang naparito mong Anak
na siyang nagmulat sa bulag,
sa pilay ay nagpalakad,
at nakiramay sa lahat!
Amang makapangyarihan,
ipagkaloob mo sa iyong Simbahan
ang Espiritu ng kabanalan:
ibukod tangi nawa niya at lukuban
ang tinapay at alak na aming alay

Purihin at ipagdangal
ang ating Poong Maykapal:
Ama na bukal ng buhay,
Anak na siya nating Daan,
Espiritung ating tanglaw.
Amang makapangyarihan,
sa paghahain ng mga banal na alay
dito sa hapag nagdudulot ng buhay,
aming ginugunita ang iyong bugtong na anak.
Para sa aming kapakanan
siya ay nagpakasakit at muling nabuhay.
Ngayo’y sabik naming hinihintay
ang kanyang pagbalik sa dakilang araw.
Amang mapagmahal,
itulot mong mapasaamin ang Espiritu Santo
upang kaming makikinabang
sa katawan at dugo ni Hesukristo,
ay kanyang kupkupin at pag-isahin
sa diwa at damdamin.
PAGLUHOG
The Presider or one of the Concelebrants joins his hands and says:
Amang mapagmahal,
patnubayan mo ang iyong Simbahan,
kasama ni N., na aming Papa,
ni N., na aming Obispo,
ng mga pari at mga diyakono,
at ng mga pinunong-layko.
The last phrase of the petition and the response of the people are sung.
P: Iniluluhog namin.
B: Sapagkat lubha kang maawain.

ang lahat ng aming yumaong kapatid:
marapatin mong sila’y iyong makapiling.
Iniluluhog namin.

ang mga haing banal
nang tayo’y ganap na magkapisan
sa masaganang hapag ng buhay.
At the singing of the Lord’s Prayer the people may raise their hands or, according to local custom, hold
hands with those beside them if it is possible.
Mga kapatid,
hindi ba’t ang pag-inom natin
sa kalis ng pagpapala
na ating ipinagpapasalamat,
ay pakikibahagi sa dugo ni Kristo?
Panginoon,
‘di kami karapat-dapat,
subalit sa iyong awa
sarili’y ipinauubaya.
The communion song is sung. The Presider together with the Concelebrating Priests and the special
ministers of communion (if needed) distributes communion to the people. After the communion of the people
the Presider distributes communion to the other ministers. He takes communion last.
