DEAR ROOM 25 FAMILIES
Days to note for March 2018!
In March, we have our break between the 12th to the
16th.
St. Patrick Day is on March 17 but our “Dress
Green” is on March 19!
No PD Days this month but March 24 is movie
night!
Good Friday falls on March 30th so there will be no
school.
Words of the month: accommodate, brink, coax,
distaste, endure, futile, gaze, hoist, immense, jar,
keepsake, lurch, malicious, nimble, opt, persuade,
quaver, recipient, shudder, transform,
unscrupulous, violate, wistful, yield, and zest.
Book of the month: The BFG by Roald Dahl
ACADEMICS AT SCHOOL
The animal of the month is fierce
and belongs to a family that works
together in order for them to survive
and to be successful. Scan the QR to find out
what this animal is. After reading through the
website page, list 5 interesting facts about this
animal. In addition to the 5 facts, a 1-page essay
on this animal. You may use other sources for
your essay and you must use at least 1 word
from the words of the month per month (Sept. –
Feb.). This essay is due on March 29.
ACADEMICS AT HOME
Ensure you are reading the book of the month (The
BFG) for at least 20 minutes a day and find out the
meanings to the words of the month. A quiz on the
words of the month will occur at the end of the month.
During your March Break, make sure you continue to
read, you don’t have to read the book of the month
but do some reading. Read the paper, read a
magazine, and/or read an online article!
