CHEMICAL PREPARATION AND MIXING EFFECTIVITY DATE
Objective: To establish a standard procedure on chemical preparation and mixing.
Scope: This applies to Electrolytic Polishing Machine.

PROCEDURES FABRICATION FIGURES

Materials: 85% Solution of Phosphoric Acid, 98% Solution of
Sulfuric Acid, Dry Rag, and Mixing Container

Equipment: Hand-operated Pump, Funnel, and Beaker, Chemical

Resistant Gloves
Procedure:
Step 1. Prepare the hand-operated pump, funnel, beaker, and chemical
resistant gloves, prior to chemical preparation. Please refer

Note: Please refer to the below for the specifications for

each equipment and material used.

Step 2. Prepare the 85% solution of phosphoric acid and the 98%

solution of sulfuric acid. Please refer to Figure 4.

Step 3. Using the lubricating pump, funnel and a beaker, pour an

approximately 3.4 liters of phosphoric acid and about 1 liter of
sulfuric acid on the mixing container. Please refer to Figure 5,
Figure 6, and Figure 7. MIXING CONTAINER FIGURE 5

Step 4. Mix the solution thoroughly and leave for six hours to let the
solution cool naturally.

Step 5. After the mixing, wash all the apparatus used during the
chemical preparation. Please refer to Figure to 8 and Figure 9.

Step 6. Remove the moisture adhering to each tool with a rag. Please
refer to Figure to 10 and Figure 11.

Step 7. Keep the apparatus in a storage box and place the chemical

solution on a solution shelf to avoid chemical spill. Please refer

to Figure 12.
