Assessment Plan Summary

Entry Level Quiz Individual quiz focusing on the concept of a ratio and rates and using ratio
language to describe relationships between two quantities
Interactive Ratios Game Students use correct ratio language to match a given picture to the
corresponding ratio. Students work individually or in groups, at the
teacher’s discretion.

Whiteboards During practice time, the whole class displays their work on individual
whiteboards (using selected practice problems)
Card Sort Given a stack of cards, students identify if the example shown represents a
proportional relationship. In pairs, students take turns solving the problem,
giving a reason for their decision. Once they both agree on the answer,
students sort the cards in two piles (yes or no stack) and their reasoning is
explained in writing using sentence frames (to get the conversation
started) created by the teacher.
Exit Ticket Students verify if two quantities are in a proportional relationship (testing
for equivalent ratios in a table)
Unit Exam Student individually take this cumulative exam on concepts and skills
addressed in this unit.
