Introduction

An automated washing machine is defined as a machine that operates by following

programmed instructions for the washing operations without manual human intervention.
In this project, an automated laundry machine will be designed to reduce human
effort in washing clothes using a washing machine. This laundry machine comprises of three
major services, which are sorting/segregation of clothes according to the amount of dirt
deposited on the clothes, washing the clothes, and finally drying the clothes. All these
processes will be done automatically which does not involve human effort at all. The only
involvement of human in this process is loading the clothes into the machine and unloading
the clothes off the machine as soon as the drying process is completed. This is an intelligent
washing machine. An intelligent washing machine is a machine that makes decisions on
how to best perform the washing operations.
