Abstractions About the Lesson decimal places.

To divide whole numbers by decimal.

1. Change the divisor to whole number by moving the decimal point to
the right until it becomes a whole number.
2. Move also the decimal point of the dividend the same number of
times you move the divisor’s decimal point. Annex zero as needed.
3. Place the decimal point directly above the dividend before dividing.
4. Divide as in dividing whole numbers.
I. Evaluating Learning Choose the letter of the correct answer. 20 item quiz
1) 15 ÷ 0.25 =60
A. 60 B. 70 C. 80 D. 90
2) 24 ÷ 1.2 =20
A. 18 B. 20 C. 22 D. 24
3) 72 ÷ 1.8=40
A. 40 B. 36 C. 29 D. 18
4) 84 ÷ 0.21=400
A. 100 B. 200 C. 400 D. 800
5) 96 ÷ 0.5=192
A. 372 B. 283 C. 192 D. 129
J. Additional Activities for Application or Write the number sentence, then solve.
Remediation 1) Cheska has 147 metres of red ribbon. She cut it into 0.21 metre
long. How many pieces of
ribbon does she have?
2) Cynthia was able to make a total of 138 metres of abaca braid. If
she braided 0.23 metre a
day, how long did it take her to braid the abaca?
3) How many pieces of string 0.62 dm long can be cut from a 21 204
dm spool of string?
